Youths Endorse Alpha Timbo Candidacy
Youths in the eastern part of Freetown have over the weekend endorsed the candidacy of one of the aspirants of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), Alpha O. Timbo. This was revealed to the Awareness Times Newspaper in random interviews held in the youthful community of Kanikay and other areas in the eastern part of Freetown. The Chairman of Sea Side Best Organization, Mr. Abdul Rahman Kamara, noted that his organization is charged with the responsibility to advocate for the youths in his organization and to bring them together in developmental activities.

A local non governmental organization called Hope Sierra Leone is presently on a regional tour dubbed “Heart 2 Heart Dialogue”. The regional tour is being organized under the organization’s “Moral Foundation for Democracy (MFD)” peace initiative. In Sierra Leone, Comium Holds Successful Annual Outing
Hundreds of Comium staff and other distinguished personalities over the weekend assembled at the Tokeh Beach to celebrate Comium’s Annual Outing. Comium’s yearly outings are being held on the last Saturday in November of every year and this year’s outing was held on Saturday 27th November 2010. The outings serve as a platform to assemble the company’s staff in unity. Comium staff from all over the country meets to interact and enjoy themselves as one big family.

In Sierra Leone, Youths Plan to Transform Juba Hill
A newly launched Community Based Organization (CBO), De Generals, which is based at Juba Hill in Freetown, has over the weekend, disclosed plans to transform their community into a standard community. Officially launching the organization on Sunday 28th November 2010 at the Serry Kamal Hall in Juba Hill, Freetown, the Honorable Member of Parliament (MP) for Constituency 112 Salamatu Turay congratulated the youths for setting up such a focused youths development organization in no less an area than Juba Hill; a place initially considered to be for the rich people.

The spate at which prohibited activities are being undertaken in the fish-rich community of Goderich has become a cause for concern to residents. Residents say bad and illegal practices by ill-motivated people along the beaches do not only have the tendency to scare away potential investors but can also destroy the country’s fishes.

SLPP Elects Flagbearer in Freetown on March 5th 2011...and mandate of John Benjamin led Executive is extended until after 2012 Elections
The mandate of the John Oponjo Benjamin led National Executive of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has been extended until after the 2012 National Elections whilst an election for position of Presidential Candidate & 2012 Elections Flagbearer will be held on March 5th 2011 right inside the capital city of Freetown in the Western Area. These decisions were reached on Saturday 27th November 2010 at a very successful mini-convention organized by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the party in the northern city of Makeni.

In Sierra Leone, Freetown Gets New Children’s Library
The Arch Diocese Development office for Freetown and Bo (ADDO-CARITAS) on Monday 22nd November officially opened the newly renovated pre-school library at St. Edwards Secondary School compound, Kingtom, Freetown. The children’s library was rehabilitated through support from Caritas Germany. The building was vandalized by Rebels during the decade devastated civil conflict in Sierra Leone. The absence of a children’s library at St. Edwards pre-school was a major challenge face by pupils and teachers of the catholic pre-school.
