The Arrest of Hassan Samba Yarjah, Senior Officer of the Human Rights Commission, Eastern Province
We were told that the Human Rights Officer -Eastern Region, Mr. Hassan Samba Yarjah, was arrested for merely "talking" on the radio and at Kenema Police station. TODAY, I have now published a copy of the Police Medical Report Request of April 27th 2015 for the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) of Police - East Alfred Karrow Kamara who alleges that after Yarjah left the SLPP Office where he tried to prevent the arrest of Fonnie, he drove to the Police Station where Yarjah allegedly engaged in unruly acts including using his official Human Rights Commission vehicle to drive and hit the leg of no less a person than AIG Karrow-Kamara.

President Koroma wants to leave a legacy of less poor Sierra Leoneans!
For those who believe President Ernest Bai Koroma is scheming to continue in office for a third term here’s a message for you: “When I leave power, and that is very shortly, I want this to be one of my key legacies: that the poverty level of my people has reduced drastically,” said President Koroma on Monday 5th May 2015 in Magburaka, Tonkolili District, Northern Sierra Leone, while officially launching the national social protection strategy.

A Sham Sierra Leone Opposition Exposed at U.S. Library of Congress
A very few disgruntled elements of the opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP), some Executives of the Kono descendants Union of USA who also are members of “Friends of Sierra Leone” (FOSL) a United States registered non- profit organization, all led by Mr. Aiah Fanday Vice President of FOSL, received the shock of their lives last Thursday April 23rd, 2015, when all their efforts geared towards presenting a bleak picture of the administration and tarnishing the good image of the President Ernest Bai Koroma led government not only went in vain, but were also perceived as insignificant, twisted to confuse the august body with stories that were very economical with the truth.

Sylvia Blyden Speaks on Press Freedom in Sierra Leone
Following is part of Dr. Sylvia Blyden's comments yesterday morning of 23rd April 2015 to the Africa Policy Breakfast hosted by members of United States Congress. She extensively responded to a bunch of untrue allegations stated to the meeting by a political ally of Alhaji Sam-Sumana named Aiah Fanday. Dr. Blyden was in the audience with Hon. Minister Mabinty Daramy at Thomas Jefferson Building, Library of Congress.

Sierra Leone: Sylvia Blyden Says President’s U.S. Trip was a Huge Success as she mocks SLPP/Sam-Sumana’s ‘Fiba Baboon’ Gimmicks at World Bank
They selfishly actually went to say assistance should be withheld from our country duirng this critical post-Ebola time! Na God go pay them for that evil wish. Anyway, it did not happen - The country under the advocacy of President Koroma has been blessed with more support whilst you Sam-Sumana folks just ridiculed yourselves in front of the White Man; especially with your ‘FIBA BABOON’ songs.

Dr. Khan’s Findings on Ebola - Virus was with us since at least 2006
Freetown, August 6th 2014: I have carefully read through a July 2014 scientific paper published by CDC, in which a team including late Dr. Sheik Umarr Khan revealed their discovery of signs of active (IgM) Ebola Virus infection in the MRU subregion from as far back as the year 2006.

Yes, We Were Warned About Ebola in Liberia - Since 1978
MONROVIA, Liberia — The conventional wisdom among public health authorities is that the Ebola virus, which killed at least 10,000 people in Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea, was a new phenomenon, not seen in West Africa before 2013. (The one exception was an anomalous case in Ivory Coast in 1994, when a Swiss primatologist was infected after performing an autopsy on a chimpanzee.)

Sierra Leone: Pondering March 21st 1967 & the SLPP’s 37% Dilemma
March 21st 2015: Today March 21st marks the 48th anniversary of the date Lieutenant Hinga Norman pointed a pistol at President Siaka Stevens, the duly elected Prime Minister of Sierra Leone who was on that date being sworn in with his top APC loyalists including my grandfather, S.A.J. Pratt by his side. It was the first use of VIOLENCE to thwart a democratic process in Sierra Leone.

Dr. Sylvia Blyden's Opinion on Appointment of a New Vice President
This form of party control becomes of even more importance for the Presidency. This is why although an MP can be elected as an independent candidate, nobody can ever dream of being elected as President of Sierra Leone if you do not have a party backing your candidacy. The reason is simple. The powerful executive Presidency MUST be under some form of control of the masses; in this case, the Presidency is under the control of members of the All Peoples Congress. This is one of the most critical elements in 1991 Democratic Constitution; the ability for a powerful sitting President to be under some control by his party's membership.

Is Appointment Constitutional?
Our Constitution was written to be read as a holistic document and not piecemeal. Reading it holistically, an over-riding emphasis on political party control over elected politicians is visible throughout the Constitution.... So taking the matter for Supreme Court interpretation is all good. Outcome will set a precedent and will surely strengthen our democratic credentials.

Northern Districts Fails President Koroma
The Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone since May 25, 2014 turned around the smiling face of our dynamic President into an unpleasant and non-smiling face as the Ebola figures inconsistently fluctuates with positive cases in Western Urban/Rural and other parts of the country, Especially northern Sierra Leone and Western urban-rural.

Between Umaru Fofana & His Buddy VP Sam-Sumana
On a certain day in June 2013, I clearly recall sitting together with Vice-President Alhaji Sam-Sumana at State House as we both waited to see President Koroma in his office. Looking through the newspapers together, we saw an unbelievable headline in that day’s Opposition SLPP Unity Newspaper that President and Vice-President had physically attacked each other at State House.
