Sincere Apologies to Seventh Day Adventist Church of Sierra Leone
Awareness Times Newspaper is very, very sorry for our editorial oversight that resulted in such a collosal mistake of us referencing Revd. Darlington Morrison as a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Sierra Leone. Please accept our sincere apologies.

More Tears soon from Sama Banya in Sierra Leone
Now, in reaction to his latest 'defence' of Sama Banya, I have dismissed his sanctimonious nonsense as it lacks credibility but let me now challenge him to be less cowardly and more of a brave and credible writer on another of his issues he raised via ‘pulling hints’ like a cowardly, yellow-bellied sissy. Mr. Ibrahim Sourie Mansaray, if you have intestinal fortitude (i.e: guts), please increase your credibility by naming the Publisher, alongside the cited publications in which Bu-Buakei Jabbi’s personality was attacked by the Publisher because your un-named Publisher saw the Court issue as an attack on the Chairman of the party, John Benjamin. I hope you, Ibrahim Sourie Mansaray, do so soonest with facts and dates of such publication for your own good as a credible writer who should be taken seriously.

Analysing SLPP’s Performance in Sierra Leone’s Kissiland (2007 vs. 2011 Elections)
This article authored by Sylvia Olayinka Blyden and first published last week is being reproduced in the wake of this week’s reaction to it by Dr. Sama Banya. Dr. Banya's own reaction to it, will be handled separately at a much, much, later date.

A Look at Series of Articles by Awareness Times on Bu-Buakei Jabbi versus SLPP
In the wake of the ongoing Supreme Court Battle between Sierra Leone’s main opposition party, the SLPP and one of its members, Dr. Bu-Buakei Jabbi, pundits have expressed grave concerns over the fate of the country’s multi-party democracy, as it is widely believed that this matter has the propensity to destabilize the country’s main opposition party if not handled with wisdom, responsible pragmatism and maturity... This is not a matter of ‘Elections’. If the matter was only concerning Elections and did not seek to have the SLPP de-registered, banned and all its properties seized under Sections 27 and 29 of the PPRC Act of 2002, then since the lower-level Elections have all been 100% conducted with no more petitions remaining anywhere, why is the case still in front of the Supreme Court?

FLASHBACK: Atmosphere in which NINJAS was formed in Sierra Leone
4 December: ***Paramount Chief Bai Kelfa N'fat has urged the government to hold talks with the RUF. "The philosophy of fire putting out fire cannot work any more. This war will only end at the negotiation table," he told a consultative conference in Kambia. N'fat said it was unrealistic to think that the war could be won militarily, and added that his people had already suffered "enormously." He said rebels had burned down 38 houses Sunday in a village five miles from Kambia. 8 December: ***U.N. Special Envoy to Sierra Leone, Francis Okelo, said the U.N. Security Council "believes you cannot settle the present conflict in Sierra Leone through military force alone. The hostilities...should be mitigated by an attitude of accommodation, dialogue, and reconciliation."

Sylvia Blyden's Address as Distinguished Guest Speaker at the Prize-Giving Ceremony of the Providence International High School in Sierra Leone
I am highly privileged to stand here today as your Guest Speaker for today’s event. As a woman who is widely believed to be one of Sierra Leone’s inspirational Role Models, I am regularly called upon to give speeches and I have given quite a few this year already but this one today here is particularly important to me because I understand that this school is one of the few co-educational High Schools in Sierra Leone that has more girls than boys in attendance. What a powerful school indeed!

Global Times Lies on Awareness Times
Infact, the Global Times Newspaper was displayed twice for publishing unprofessional and pornographic articles. The Global Times of Sorie Fofana was openly and severally chastised for publishing wicked lies against upstanding citizens. It also received condemnation for not only publishing lies against Sylvia Blyden but for stooping so low as to publishing ‘gutter languages’. Infact, Mr. Battiloi Warritay, the IMC’s Consultant described Sorie Fofana articles against Blyden as: “The worst character assassination article I have ever come across in my forty years in the media world”.

Dr. Sylvia Blyden & the President’s Generosity – A Rejoinder to Cocorioko Online Article
I here confirm the information you have dished out that I gave a few thousand leones to the workers on your building site at Masiaka few weeks ago. But you will recall how I did it. I first asked for the Head of your workmen and then I asked him how many workers were there and when he responded, I counted the sum of money to ensure each worker received a certain sum and handed it to the Head of the workmen. I did not arrive at the scene and spontaneously dish out one million leones to the youths and then drive off as that would have simply set the stage for a commotion over how such a huge chunk of one million leones was to be shared. Hope you get my drift?

Looking Forward to Introducing Puawui!
Dr. Sama ‘Puawui’ Banya is easily my most favourite adopted Kailahun Uncle. I have tremendous respect for him even though we sometimes have political viewpoints quite extreme from each other. I grew up knowing he was around not only because he served as an APC Minister alongside my grandfather but because we belong to the same Central Circuit of the Methodist Church of Sierra Leone and he was regularly involved with my parents at Church Activities. When I was a Final Year medical student in 1995/1996, Dr. Banya was amongst those who used to lobby students to support and vote for SLPP.

Maada Bio Tars & Feathers Himself in Sierra Leone
The recent Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) TV/Radio programme which was expected to have opportune Maada Bio to auction his political agenda, changed into something shocking. Maada Bio spent two-thirds of the programme’s allotted time defending himself rather than promoting his agenda. He also spent time to speak about how President Ernest Koroma, the man the SLPP wants to remove from office, is his “good friend”. Logically, he also made it clear that his supporters slogans of “No Maada: No SLPP” was sanctioned by him as he subtly threatened repercussions if he loses SLPP flagbearer contest. It was bizarre to many but not to me as I have experienced the negative phenomenon known as Maada Bio. My initial comment to his output on SLBC was: “Maada has done it again!”

Personal Reflections - A Not-So-Literate Baker Speaks out his Gratitude to Sylvia Blyden in Sierra Leone
A Not-So-Literate Bread Baker in Daru town of Eastern Kailahun District has two daughters and was struggling to take care of their schooling. After I took over full responsibility for the education of one of the girls under my Kula Samba Memorial Educational Scholarship Fund, he baked me this bread on October 20th 2009. He managed to put the letters together as best as he could and you can see the pride in his face as he presented my bread to me. I so much cherished his bread that I did not want to eat it. However, when we arrived in Bo later the next day, my Bodyguards were so ravenous that they sliced into the wonderful work of art. It is a good thing that I had taken the photograph as my momento.
