Sierra Leone Police Must Stand Firm When Anarchy Portends
The Sierra Leone Police walks a tightrope when public pressure emanates from actions that cause attrition and displeasure in the way the force is deemed to execute its authority. In these times of public emergency, the pressure on the police is exacerbated by the strict discipline and rigeur with which the Police has of necessity to act. What is always lost on the public is the stringent parameters within which the Police undertake their mandate o keep the peace, to protect life and property and to remain true to its core values and functions.

From Zero to Hero: April 29th 1992 to April 29th 2015 - A Reflection!
Today, under Ernest Bai Koroma, the APC has moved from ZERO to HERO. The APC is now known as the party which actively promotes transparency and public audits. The APC-led government is now hailed by Transparency International for being the first MRU country to order an Audit into management of Ebola Funds. This was done by President Koroma with no urgings from anybody. The President has given unprecedented powers to the Audit Service that no other President of Sierra Leone has ever done. Instructing for the Ebola Audit is a source of pride to us APC members.

Sierra Leone Youths & the Ebola Crisis: Sylvia Blyden’s Presentation to Chatham House
"Clearly, as shown in their sense of responsibilities emerging, the youth can no longer afford inaction from our generation of adults. They are taking up responsibilities themselves without any funding. They are proving they have the power and skills to shape history of Sierra Leone and so the World needs to now step up and support them. The time for waiting is over. The days of our unproductive commitment must come to a close. The need to bring this Ebola to an end is here and the signs are very clear that the outbreak is drawing to a slow but sure end. And we must all together with youth and women, come to plan ahead and be prepared to tackle the challenges posed in the Post Ebola era." CLICK ABOVE LINK TO READ THE FULL STATEMENT.

Quotable Quotes - From the President's Recent Address to Sierra Leone
“I know that this is the festive season where Sierra Leoneans often celebrate with families in a flamboyant and joyous manner, but all must be reminded that our country is at war with a vicious enemy that is still taking the lives of our brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers, children and friends. Let me also remind the general public that the Public State of Emergency is still in place and that my government will implement its measures to the letter during this festive season.

References to Oswald Hanciles in the New York Times Article on Ebola Donation Container
The government official (Oswald Hanciles) who pleaded for the shipment to come in said that the political tensions may have contributed to the delay, to prevent the opposition from trumpeting the donations. Mr. Bah said he thought the equipment would be welcomed by the struggling authorities, and he said he expected the shipping fee of $6,500 would be a small detail for Sierra Leone. According to the official (Oswald Hanciles), the government has already received well over $40 million in cash from international donors to fight Ebola.

Sierra Leone Politics : APC Mouthpiece Wades into the Matter
One of perceived ills for which senseless war was orchestrated is ‘political intolerance’. The APC of late Joseph Saidu Momoh was wrongly accused of being politically intolerant. Since his election to governance in 2007, President Koroma’s APC government has espoused, demonstrated and practice political tolerance more than any previous government and in an unbelievable manner not akin to African politics.
