APC Parliamentarians Worried Over Hardship : Things are Too Tough, Hard & Strong [TIN TRONG]
Owing to the unprecedented hike in prices of basic commodities and other goods and services alongside the high exchange rate in foreign currencies especially the US dollar which has been confounding many citizens, Members of Parliament on Friday summoned both the Minister of Finance and Economic Development, Dr. Samura Kamara and the Trade and Industry Minister David Carew to answer to questions on the country’s current economic situation. To the expressed surprise of many observers, ruling party MPs from the All People’s Congress (APC) were very hard on the ministerial duo.

APC’s Rebranding affected by SALPOST’s Ineptitude
Management Authorities of the Sierra Leone Postal Services (SALPOST) have had to grapple with being plagued for years now with reports of bare-faced thievery by SALPOST workers of valuable items of valued customers but the latest scandal to hit the management has left many citizens furious at the level of complicit recklessness with which the entity has been handling its sacred national duties and in the process affecting the ruling APC’s efforts to rebrand the country as investor-friendly. One Mr. Murana Janneh of 12 Bai Bureh Road in Freetown is the latest victim of the shenanigans that SALPOST has relentlessly been engaged in with impunity and for which the country’s authorities whilst claiming to be rebranding the land as ‘investor-friendly’, seem not to understand the implications of regular reports of missing postal items hence the continuous practise of the shameful act of looting customers valuables posted through the country’s postal services.

Pro-APC Students’ Union Aspirant walks off FBC Debate
What was described as a blatant show of disrespect for authority and for fellow students was the walk-out from a political debate by one of the presidential aspirants for the FBC Students’ Union presidency who makes no secret of his camp’s alignment to the ruling APC party. Mr. Alfred Minkailu Koroma and his supporters, many of them APC members, walk-out yesterday at the Amphi Theatre was seen to be very ironical because Minkailu vanished in a show of intolerance from the platform just after his delivery calling for students’ unionism, political tolerance and development. The ugly development virtually took everybody aback, especially lecturers who formed part of the high table. No reason was given for their unwarranted departure as the two other candidates remained in their seats. Members of the high table comprised the outgoing SU President, Mohamed A. Timbo, Prof. J. A.D. Allie, Prof. Ishmael Rashid, Mr. Charles Silver, Miss. Lena Thompson, Mrs. Memunatu Pratt and other lecturers.

Conteh Dumbuya of ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party of sending thugs to intimidate and molest them while conducting an open weekly meeting on Monday 24th May 2010. Ironically, the Taysapaneh Organisation claiming to have been brutalised by APC parliamentarians is a pro-APC unit in support of the ruling APC party with the aim of galvanising support for the APC’s 2012 chances.

Senior members of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) have told Awareness Times that their party has no hands in ongoing students’ political campaigning for position of President of Fourah Bay College Students’ Union(S.U). Leicester Road Blame APC for their plight
Residents of the Leicester Road Community in Freetown blame the APC government of Ernest Bai Koroma for the underdevelopment of their community as they remain in dire straits for basic services such as portable water and good road network. This was disclosed to our reporter on Friday 14th May 2010 by the community chief, who doubles as the deputy Susu tribal headman for the Western Area, Pa Foday M. Kamara at his residence. The chief disclosed that during the last days of the SLPP, he came together with some community elders and wrote a project that was forwarded to NACSA to afford them portable water. "But as the SLPP lost power and the APC took over, the project died down even as we have made several representations to the MP and councilor to revive it," he lamented.

John Benjamin is best SLPP Leader of Modern Times - say SLPP stalwarts
Sheriff insisted that "if John Benjamin had been the Party Leader following the 2005 Makeni Convention, there is no way the PMDC would have been formed as John Benjamin displayed astute leadership skills when I felt marginalised after I was denied the SLPP symbol for Constituency 91 and left the party. The way and manner JOB galvanised forces to bring me back into the party’s fold was simply spectacular. The SLPP currently has their best ever Leader of modern times in John Benjamin and the fact that he has held the party together in the wilderness of opposition with all the treachery and subterfuges is a big feather to his cap. We should all be thanking JOB for being the spectacular leader he is."

National Executive to Suspend J.B.S. Tucker (aka J.T.) from Sierra Leone People's Party
The reaction has been swift and harsh against one J.B.S. Tucker (aka J.T.)who insulted the SLPP Chairman John Benjamin. Scores of senior party stalwarts spoke on issue of his "insulting conduct" as exemplified in a Monday 17th May 2010 interview published in Concord Times newspaper in which he exhibited not only his ignorance of the SLPP Party Constitution but his lack of respect for the party’s leadership. The SLPP’s National Organising Secretary Alex Kargbo described Tucker as "saying arrant nonsense and if it is proved that he indeed said those insulting words, he should be suspended immediately pending disciplinary hearings"...
