Sierra Leone Government is Upset with Civil Society for Expressing Opinions on Joe Koroma's 'Demotion'
The All People’s Congress (APC) government has slammed insinuations that the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Joseph Koroma was either sacked or demoted. A press release from the Office of the President condemned ‘certain sections’ of the media for suggesting that the newly appointed ambassador to China was fired, whilst emphasizing that Joseph Koroma was neither sacked nor demoted.

APC’s Biggest Defender is Kailahun District Council led by Tom Nyuma
One of the biggest defenders of the All People’s Congress (APC) government is the Kailahun District Local Council under the Chairmanship of Tom Nyuma, it has emerged. The Nyuma-led opposition SLPP dominated Council has now taken upon itself to be passionately speaking on behalf of the APC government, irrespective of the fact that Nyuma is still shamelessly posing as a member of the main opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

As PPRC raises alarm… APC ‘Kukujumuku’Budget Exposed!
A recent outburst of dissatisfaction by the Political Parties Registration Commission (PPRC) has left tongues wrangling over the actual intention of the All People’s Congress (APC) led Government of Sierra Leone. “The Political Parties Registration Commission wishes to register its utmost dissatisfaction over the amount allocated to the Commission by the Government of Sierra Leone through the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development,” said the Acting Chairperson of the PPRC, Roland Ade Caesar on the 15th November 2010 at a news conference.

Tom Nyuma Apologises; Promises to Donate Jeep
Kailahun District Chairman, Tom Nyuma has informed close friends and relatives that he has now confessed to senior SLPP stalwarts at a Special Meeting in Bo as haven received an expensive Jeep from President Koroma’s first cousin, John Sisay of Sierra Rutile. Nyuma also confirmed the details as exposed by Awareness Times that he was given the expensive Landrover (not Rangerover) Jeep with number AEW 755 just days after he effusively commended President Koroma whilst calling for “more time” to be given to the President by Kailahun voters.

Finance and Economic Development Minister, Dr. Samura Kamara, has presented the 2011 budget in the House of Parliament. The 2011 Appropriation Act was tabled on Friday 12th November 2010 for the approval of the use of 1.41 trillion leones for the service of Sierra Leone for the year 2011.

‘Our Hearts are with Alpha Wurie’ …Makeni students cry
Students of the Northern Polytechnic in Makeni city have expressed willingness to join the campaign trail of erstwhile Education Minister Dr. Alpha Tejan Wurie in his bid to become flag bearer of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) ahead of the 2012 election. Speaking on behalf of his colleagues at the flag bearer aspirant’s declaration meeting in the SLPP Northern Region office, Bai F.S. Kamara recalled when a couple of years back Dr. Wurie provided sufficient Grant-in-Aid especially to students of deprived background irrespective of ethnicity or political affiliation to enable them pursue their courses in tertiary institutions.

Former Sierra Leone President Momoh's Son is not Mentally Challenged - Says his wife Monica
Meanwhile, scores and scores of the neighbours of the Momohs at their current Hill Station Gbangbayilla Community; which is a Community of well over two thousand people, also spoke to this reporter. The neighbours openly express disappointment at the ruling APC party for wrongly labelling Alfred Momoh as being mentally unstable and/or a psychiatric case. One of them is a Building Contractor, Salman Kamara who is also the elected Vice Chairman of the Hill Station Gbangbayilla Community. Salman describes himself also to be a Rastafarian by Faith and went on to state that the insult against Alfred Momoh by APC writers seems to originate out of the fact that President Momoh’s son was a Rastafarian with long dreadlocks.

‘We must reinstate District Officers in Sierra Leone’ says Amb. Dauda Kamara
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Local Government and Rural Development, Ambassador Dauda Kamara has told journalists that government was determined to re-introduce District Officers as the hub of government activities in the provinces. Addressing the Fourth Estate at the usual weekly government press briefing at the Ministry of Information, 8th floor Youyi Building in Freetown, Ambassador Dauda Kamara said on June 24, 2010 he made a public announcement that cabinet had agreed on the reinstatement, and that they have already consulted with other stakeholders including the Civil Society Organisation on the need for such a decision.

Alpha Wurie SABABU Wave Spreads Nationwide
Since Dr. Alpha Tejan Wurie threw his hat into the ring for the flagbearership of the opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), he has been showered with praises everywhere within the country. He has garnered support from party delegates from Koinadugu to Port Loko, Kono, Bo, Kenema, Kambia and now Bonthe. The name Alpha Wurie keeps reverberating to the amazement of the distinguished academic himself. It all emanates from the exemplary leadership he demonstrated while serving as Education Minister from 1996-2007 (the longest serving in the country’s history).

PMDC to Emulate SLPP’s Monthly Briefings (Full Text Published)
...Lawyer Margai openly condemned the actions of elected PMDC parliamentarian, Hon. Legacy Sankoh whom he announced might soon be expelled from the party following due process as the PMDC was not prepared to sit back and watch Hon. Sankoh hobnob with the ruling APC to the detriment of the interest of the PMDC. “We are going to ask that he (Sankoh) be removed from parliament and we will be ready for the Bye-Elections to replace him” he said. He furthered that even if the Bye-Elections caused another party to win the seat currently held by the PMDC, he would prefer that than for Legacy Sankoh to continue to hold the seat fooling people that he was PMDC when in reality he was APC in disguise. He said if even it caused PMDC to be left with just one elected MP in Parliament, it was preferable to having so-called PMDC parliamentarians pursuing another party’s agenda under the guise of the PMDC.

The National Secretary General for the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party Victor Bockarie Foh has described Sierra Leone as a Farm and the APC Government officials as Birds busy eating on the Farm. Speaking to journalists yesterday October 28th 2010, Mr. Victor B. Foh said the APC has not been calling regular Press Briefings because as he put it in Krio that “Da bud wae dae eat res nar farm nor dae tok borku” translated in English as ‘a pecking bird makes less noise.’

Amadu Jalloh is Sierra Leone President come 2012 - Says NDA
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in a recent statement sent to Awareness Times expresses the belief that the NDA Leader, Alhaji Amadu Jalloh was all set to implement strategies that will see his party win the 2012 Elections and replace the current ruling All People’s Congress (APC) at the helm of Governance in country. According to the release, the NDA held a successful planning meeting via a conference call with over a hundred participants, bringing its newest members into the fold. The leader of the party, Alhaji Amadu Jalloh enlightened the newcomers with a brief history on the party’s motto “Respect for all,” and explained the party’s logo of a standing black elephant in a shield against a white background.

I.B. Kargbo Publicly Apologises to Charles Margai
The All Peoples Congress (APC) led Government Spokesman and Minister of Information and Communication Alhaji Ibrahim Ben Kargbo has accepted defeat in a recent war of words by surrendering himself to the Leader of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC), Lawyer Charles Francis Margai by publicly apologizing to the latter for having attacked his personality over several public media. This apology, Awareness Times has been reliably informed, came after President Ernest Bai Koroma had a peacemaking dinner with the two men at State Lodge on Wednesday 13th October 2010 following which dinner the three men held undisclosed talks behind closed doors.
