My attention has been drawn to the poorly written lead front page story of Standard Times newspaper of June 27, 2006 with the screaming headline of “Chief Justice Exposes Contractgate in the Judiciary” in which my company and myself have been roundly slandered and libeled by Mr. Philip Neville who claims that he interviewed the Lord Chief Justice of Sierra Leone about a contract allegedly awarded to my company to train Sierra Leone Judges to use computers... Gleneagles – Turning Promises Into Action
UK Prime Minister Tony Blair made Africa a priority of the G8 Summit held in 2005 at Gleneagles, Scotland with a comprehensive package that was supposed to fast track progress by Africa towards meeting the Millennium Development Goals. Last year, Blair said of the Gleneagles Agreement by World Leaders, "It isn’t the end of poverty in Africa, but it is the hope that it can be ended." The hope of these leaders was that tens of millions of lives will be saved and with proper education and healthcare, the children of Africa have a future. Charles Margai encounters hiccups in Kono District (New Citizen)
PMDC leader, Charles Margai’s effort to send the message of his party to the Kono District suffered a severe set back on Friday when his entourage was reportedly confronted at Walehun by Councilors Michael Allieu and Francis Totor and the Public Relations Officer for the SLPP in Kono District, Kandeh who stopped the entourage as a claim that they were on a revenue drive and that only people who had paid their local tax were allowed to enter the District.
