In Sierra Leone, Deputy Mayor Striped Naked

Deputy Mayor of the Koidu New Sembehun City Council has allegedly been attacked, beaten mercilessly, and stripped off his cloths and mobile phones in Kono.

The incident reportedly occurred on Friday 11th September 2009 at the Tankoro Market, close to the Tankoro Police Station.

Osman Turay, Issa Kamara and Alusine Bangura are presently standing trial at the Magistrate Court in Kono for the alleged beating of the Deputy Mayor Aiah Komba. Explaining his ordeal to the press, His Worship Aiah Komba said he was riding a motor bike when he sped near the three accused persons.

"They used an unprintable invective against me," he mentioned, adding that he felt offended and decide to query the three men.

According to him, the three men took offence over his query and threatened to give him the beating of his life.

"Even when I.B. Manoh Mansaray, who was in my company, told them that they should stop abusing me, owning to the fact that I am an authority, they never listened to him," the Deputy Mayor alleged, adding that the men then proceeded to grab his trousers and shirt and started roughing him up.

He said another person who attempted to intervene to salvage the situation was also given a merciless beating.

"During the process, I was stripped off my clothes and mobile phones," he explained, adding that the intervention of the police saved his life.

The bike the Deputy Mayor was also reportedly damaged badly.

The three men were then arrested and whisked to police cells.

After preliminary investigations, they were charged to court.
