Final Funeral Arrangements for the Late Salia Jusu-Sheriff of Sierra Leone

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful, Blessed is He in Whose hand is the Sovereignty, and, He is Able to do all things. Who hath created life and death that He may try you which of you is best in conduct; and He is the Mighty, the Forgiving.

for the Late Hon. Dr Salia Jusu-Sheriff, former Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone and Leader of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party 1968-1978, who died peacefully in London on 19th December 2009, aged 80.

Hon. Dr Jusu-Sheriffs remains will be flown to Freetown on Tuesday 29th December 2009, where a State Funeral Ceremony has been scheduled for Wednesday 30th December 2009.  

The late Hon. Dr. Salia Jusu-Sheriffs cortege will drive through Bo, and he will be laid out at the Bo School where OBBA and the people of Bo will have an opportunity to pay their last respects. There will also be a ceremony in Kenema town.   He will finally be laid to rest on 1st January 2009 in Sefula Village, Tunkia Chiefdom, Kenema District, Sierra Leone.

Dr Jusu-Sheriff is survived by his loving wife Gladys and children - Yasmin, Salia (Jnr), Nalinie, Nadia and Sheku and was a dearly loved grandfather.  He was the first indigenous Chartered Accountant in Sierra Leone and a veteran SLPP politician who championed democracy, unity freedom and justice.


O Allah! Forgive him, and have mercy upon him. Surely You alone are the Forgiver, the Merciful.
