Chief Justice Swears in Salamatu Koroma in Sierra Leone

Justice Salamatu Koroma, the former Administrator and Registrar General was on Wednesday December 21st 2005, sworn in by the Chief Justice, His Lordship Dr. Ade Renner Thomas as an Appeals Court Judge whilst in a related development, Justice Patricia Macaulay and Justice Nylander are to both retire from the Bench.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian Government in a bid to strengthen the Sierra Leone Judiciary this week donated fifteen new cars for use by Judges in Sierra Leone.

Awareness Times has also learnt that the Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) has recently strengthened the Sierra Leone Judiciary by funding an improvement in the computerization capacity of the Judiciary.

The Sierra Leone Judiciary has been seeing a series of progressive facelifts in the last one year. The Law Courts now have brand new generators and Internet facilities amongst other improvements.

All staff of the Sierra Leone Judiciary all around the country are now sworn to a code of conduct which has been introduced by Chief Justice Ade Renner Thomas.
