PMDC Invades Pujehun in Sierra Leone

A high powered delegation of the newly registered Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) headed by the Interim Leader Mr. Charles Francis Margai, has ended a sensitization tour in the Pujehun district.

The main thrust of the visit was to sensitize the people on the forth coming elections slated for 2007.

Mr. Margai, addressing the large crowd that converged to listen to him and his entourage, started by paying special tributes to the Paramount Chief of Pujehun, PC Alimamy Kai Kai.

Mr. Margai intimated the people that the main reason for his visit was to inform the people about the forth coming elections, and to explain to them the pattern which the elections are going to take. Despite the presence of about six police officers to control the crowd and maintain law and order, unconfirmed reports have it that the PMDC sensitization tour was suddenly disrupted on alleged "orders from above".

Reports say a senior police officer, Mr. Nasiru Deen M. and SLPP Councilor Patrick Alpha, were among the people who disrupted the programme.

Mr. Margai is said to have put up a heated argument on the grounds that the PMDC is a registered party, and that the fact that the meeting took place in a private property, no one has any right to disrupt them.

The meeting however had to be called off when it became apparent that the atmosphere was getting unfriendly for the visiting PMDC delegation.

Meanwhile, Moijueh Kai Kai, a staunch PMDC man, has stated that no one will intimidate the PMDC.
