Sierra Leone’s Miss University clinches 3rd World Best

The new Miss University in Sierra Leone, Kadijatu Kebbay (Miss) recently clinched third position in the Miss World contest held in South Korea on November 11th this year. According to Miss Kebbay, in addressing journalists at the Concord Times communication office yesterday,16th November, she disclosed that the contest which was held at the Jaju International Convention Hall at Jaju Island in South Korea was represented by forty-three contestants, among which were six African countries. She said she clinched the 3rd position in friendship, and was appointed good-will ambassador to help promote the International Vaccine Institute. "This is the only research organization in the world devoted to accelerating development and the introduction of a new life-saving vaccine for children," she informed. Miss Kebbay noted that the International Institute of Vaccine for infections currently targets diseases like diarrhea, cholera, shigellosis and typhoid fever.

According to Miss Kebbay, she informed that this year’s theme for the Miss World Competition is to bring peace among neighbouring counties, adding that as a good-will ambassador, she will help promote the Institute’s global humanitarian efforts, concluding that since this is her first international contest, she is ready to market the beauty of Sierra Leone.
