The Wedding of Sierra Leone's Former President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah to Mrs. Isata Kabbah

The former President of Sierra Leone, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, today Sunday May 11th 2008, took the hand of his longtime confidante and close friend Isata, in marriage. The photos below are of the wedding ceremony that occured at Scan Drive, Off Spur Road in Freetown. We Present below the Wedding Photos of Dr. & Mrs. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah:

The Muslim Cleric seated in the Parlour at Scan Drive, Off Spur Road shortly before the Wedding Ceremony starts

Former Foreign Minister Momodu Koroma with another guest. Koroma was the running mate to the Opposition SLPP's Presidential Candidate

The soon-to-be Mrs. Isata Kabbah enters the Parlour were the ceremony is to be held

She is asked if she accepts the proposal to marry Alhaji Tejan Kabbah and she accepts by taking the Calabash brought by the Kabbah family for the Jabbie Family

She then hands the Calabash over to her brother, Mr. Mohamed Jabbie who is shown holding the calabash

She is then asked to uncover her veil for the room to take a look at her

Isata is shown seated with her Godmother for the Wedding and above her is one of her closest friends, Mrs. Afiju Daramy

Meanwhile, members of the Jabbie family announce their willingness to hand their daughter and sister over to the Kabbah family

Other Members of the Jabbie family take turns to announce their acceptance and the calabash moves from hand to hand

Isata Jabbie, who will soon be Isata Kabbah looks on

Former Sierra Leone Ambassador to the USA and UK, Alhaji Sulaiman Tejan Jalloh looks on whilst seated next to Alhaji Momodu Koroma

Former Commissioner of NaCSA, Alhaji Kanja Sesay and former Mines Minister Alhaji Swarray Deen

Dr. Sidi T.O. Alghali, one of the close friends of the bridegroom, Dr Ahmad Tejan Kabbah

The Bridegroom shares a light moment with another of his closest friends, Dr. Sama Banya. At their back and to the left is another friend of the Bridegroom, Dr. A.T. Fadlu Deen.

The Clergy do the symbolic "tying" of the Wedding between Kabbah and Jabbie Family

And more hands come on top of the two hands to concretize the wedding

The two gold rings also get blessed

The Bridegroom Ahmad Tejan Kabbah signs the Wedding Certificate

Someone is certainly a very happy man today!

The Bride, Mrs. Isata Kabbah signs the Register (Yawo dey yah? Ee Dey!!!)

Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah places the gold ring on Mrs. Isata Kabbah (Yawo dey ya? Ee dey!!!)

Mrs. Isata Kabbah places the gold ring on Dr. Kabbah's finger (Okoh dey yah? Ee dey!!!)

Dr. Kabbah hugs his new bride Mrs. Isata Kabbah

And the couple walk out of the Ceremony amidst a lot of hailing and merriment: Yawo Dey ya? Ee dey!!! Okoh dey yah? Ee dey!! Godmammy den dey? Den all dey!!! Goddaddy den dey? Den all dey yah!!! The Reception is slated for 6:30pm tonight at the Couple's Kabbahya Residence up at Juba Hills.
