In Sierra Leone, Parliament Honours Late PMDC MP

Members of the Sierra Leone Parliament are expected to converge this morning, Wednesday 24th February 2010, at the Parliament Building, Tower Hill in Freetown, to view the corpse of the late People’s Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Sylvester Koroma, as a show of honour to the late MP.

The late Hon. Sylvester Koroma of Constituency 91, who passed away on Thursday 18th February 2010, would be laid in the Parliament Building this morning.

Yesterday Tuesday 23rd February 2010, Members of Parliament, family members, friends as well as well wishers signed the book of condolence in Parliament.

The Hon. Speaker of Parliament, Abel Nathaniel Stronge was the first to sign the condolence book followed by the Deputy Speaker of the House, Hon. Chukuma Johnson, the Majority Leader Hon. Sheku B.B Dumbuya, the Minority Leader Hon. Emmanuel Tommy, other Members of Parliament as well as family members including the wife of the late man, Mrs. Nanah Ejuice Koroma.

The remains of the late man would be conveyed to Pujehun on Thursday 25th February 2010.

The late Hon. Sylvester Koroma would be laid to rest on Friday 26th February 2010 in his home town.

He is survived by seven children at home and abroad.

May his soul rest in perfect peace.
