Scores of Sierra Leoneans located inside and out of Sierra Leone, have contacted the Awareness Times with copies of the first “concocted recording” of Mohamed Bangura’s voice which was released on the Internet by one P.K. Muana in August this year. All of them are members of the popular Internet Discussion Forum where the voice recording was first dumped by Muana.
Their copies forwarded to us are all identical and have proven beyond all reasonable doubts that Mohamed Bangura was speaking gospel truth when he told the Nation last Sunday October 16th 2011 that the first “concocted recording” did not make mention of him receiving US$800,000 (Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars) from President Koroma.
It will be recalled that last Sunday, five senior members of the main opposition Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) sponsored a two-hours live programme over Radio Democracy 98.1 during which they lambasted Bangura as a stooge for President Koroma and presented to the listening public a recording where a male voice asks of Mohamed about whether he received US$800,000 from President Koroma to which a voice sounding like Bangura’s responds “Yes”.
On the Internet version first released by the SLPP’s Muana, the same recording is played but when it comes to that section were the US$800,000 is expected, what is there were words to the effects that some money passed through the hands of Bangura for the PMDC’s Convention hosted in Kenema in 2009. This just confirms Bangura’s convincing explanation to the general public that he was being framed by the SLPP.
How the SLPP will be able to overcome this burning allegation of them having engaged in a deceitful attempt to pass off a concoction as a genuine recording is the question that was on a lot of minds yesterday. It will be recalled that Bangura had told listeners on Sunday that based on the behaviour of the SLPP in presenting a doctored recording to the public, the SLPP was not to be trusted as it showed they had the penchant to frame up treason charges and have people executed if they were in governance.
“You see how the SLPP has doctored my voice to set me up with the public? These people are dangerous. If they ever come back to power, they will set up innocent people on coup and treason allegations and have them hanged with no conscience,” Mohamed Bangura told Awareness Times.
As stated above, the SLPP is yet to react even as the original Internet “concoction” has exposed the party as capable of perpetuating such heinous actions against innocent persons.
