OBBA-USA Donates to Bo School

The Old Bo Boys Association, United States of Aerica branch (OBBA-USA) has capacitated its almamater Bo Government Secondary School with the provision of mattresses, variety of textbooks and sport gears. The ceremony was hosted at the forecourt of the school�s Administrative Building in Bo city. The items were presented by Mr. Ahmed Charm on behalf of OBBA- USA and received by National OBBA President, Mr. Andrew Turay.

 

K- School Gets Modern Library

The Kenema Government Secondary School (k-School) has been boosted with the provision of a modernized library. The said library was constructed by the Alie Kabba Foundation (AKF) headed by Alie Kabba an alumnus of the school based in the United States of Aerica. Handing over the library, Mr. Kabba maintained that as old boy of the school, he was moved by the desire of the President for pupils to access a well furnished library for study purposes.

 

People Coalition for the Agenda for

prosperity Formed

The People Coalition for the Agenda for Prosperity with the sole aim of achieving the government�s Agenda for Prosperity has been formed in Freetown. The Coalition is a national working group which involves youth, women journalists, drivers, otorbike riders, farmers, civil society ebers, human right activists, evers of the Trader Union, Student Union and musicians who have come together to complement the government�s effort in making the country a well developed and prosperous one.

 

Nimikoro, Sewafe Land Owners gets S

urface Rent

Nimini mining company has at the weekend paid land owners in Nimikoro and Sewafe in the Nimiyama Chiefdom Kono district and other authorities its surface rent for 2012, for its gold mining activities in that localities.The payment of Le 146 million in Nimikoro and Le 26 million in sewafe were facilitated by the Ministry of Mines and Mineral Resources.

 

Madingos Get New Chief Imam & Tribal Head

Madingos in the Western Area have inaugurated 43 years old Alhaji Sheikk Abubakarr Swarray as the new Chief Imam of Jami-ul audus (Madingo Central Mosque) situated at Magazine Court in Freetown. The ceremony attracted state functionaries including the Vice President, Alhaji Chief Samuel Sam Sumana and other Cabinet Ministers. The new Chief Imam hailed from Kenema. The ceremony also saw the crowning of 85 years old Chief Alimamy Samba Demba Tarawallie as the new Madingo Tribal Head.

 

Sierra Leone, Guinea Boat Owners Meet in Freetown

The Sierra Leone Union of Boat Owners Association has on Monday 27th January met with the Guinean Boat Union Association in Freetown to discuss the way forward for both Unions. The meeting was to prevent sea disaster, promote safety measures and security, and at the same time, address issues of piracy. Both Unions at the end agreed that all boat plying the sea should have two machines, touch light, tarpaulin, rope, sand, drinking water and two captains.
