Stalwarts of the ruling All Peoples Congress (APC) party led by their Chairman and Leader, His Excellency President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, have yesterday Sunday 4th August 2013, remembered former APC leader, late President Joseph Saidu Momoh. On the tenth anniversary of his death, his family had invited friends and relatives to worship at the Judea West African Methodist Church during which a beautifully engraved memorial tablet was unveiled.

Delivering the address to the jam-packed to overflowing church, Reverend Donald John described the late President as a man who "worked so hard for the country". He recounted of how he was a Limba from Bombali who came to Freetown and made an indelible mark for himself in the annals of the country's History.
He said he joined the army as a second lieutenant and because of his disciplined comportment, he rose to become Force Commander and eventually was elected as the second President of Sierra Leone who left many positive legacies for the country.
It can be recalled the late J.S. Momoh was the President who left numerous indelible developments for Sierra Leoneans in the area of infrastructural developments like the Cockeril Military Headquarters in Western Freetown, numerous road networks and massive agricultural projects nationwide.
In field of education, it is to admirable legacy of J.S. Momoh that Sierra Leone can today boast of a Medical School and a Law School; to which both, come students from other countries, eager to gain medical and legal knowledge.
