Hundreds of Muslims in Pujehun town on Friday 9th August 2013 held fervent prayers for His Excellency President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and his government at the Pujehun Central Mosque.
According to the Muslims the prayers were rendered in appreciation of the numerous development projects implemented in the district by the Ernest Bai Koroma led All People’s Congress government.
They also used the opportunity to thank the Minister of Social Welfare, Gender and Children Affairs, Moijueh Kaikai for providing much needed facilities to Muslims in that part of the country, especially during the holy month of Ramadan (fasting).
The Muslims revealed that Minister Kaikai is currently constructing a Mosque at Benga village and a multi-purpose structure at the DEC Primary School all in the Pujehun district. They said he has also donated a wall clock and generator to the Central Mosque as well as pledged one hundred bags of cement to help in the expansion work of the said Mosque.
During the prayers, the Chief Imam of the Pujehun Central Mosque, Sheik Alhaji Ahmed Jalloh in his sermon said, Allah has a reward for those who use their power and money to help their people.
He called on Muslims to be grateful to President Koroma for appointing Moijueh Kaikai as a minister in his Cabinet.
According to him, ever since in the history of Pujehun district, no politician has ever made such contributions towards the propagation of Islam as Minister Kaikai has done, adding that Moijue Kaikai has come as a savior to the people of Pujehun district.
Speaking during the event, Minister Moijueh Kaikai told the people of Pujehun that in the ‘University’ of President Koroma, ministers first module is to take development projects to their districts. He listed the implementation of the solar street light project, construction of roads, awarding of Hajj scholarships, improvement of health and agriculture in the districts as some of the other modules expected by President Koroma of his ministers.
He called on the people of Pujehun district to join the president in achieving the Agenda for Prosperity and to do more for the development of Sierra Leone.
