A local non governmental organization, Thorough Empowerment and Development of Women and Girls in Sierra Leone (TEDEWOSIL) in collaboration with Thorough Life of Christ Ministries on Wednesday 8th October 2008 commenced a week long training on cosmetology at the Bailey Street Church Auditorium for over 100 vulnerable women and girls in the country.

The training is funded by New Song Bible Church USA and Cole Stevens Day SPA Saloon USA.

Chairperson of the occasion, Madam Shellac Davies, who is also Coordinator of SLANGO, thanked the eight man team f
rom the New Song Bible Church USA for leaving their busy schedules to come to Sierra Leone to empower women and girls to become independent.

She encouraged participants to make good use of the opportunity accorded them.

President of Legal Access through Women Yearning for Equality, Rights and Social Justice (LAWYERS), Melinda Davies says her organization had been working in collabo
ration with TEDEWOSIL for the past six years in propagating women’s empowerment.

She used the opportunity to remind the government about the promises made during the elections on the empowerment of women in the country.

She spoke of her organization’s unflinching support towards women empowerment and urged the participants to be attentive and make use of the opportunity.

Sister Brenda Fullah, who spoke on behalf of the team, says they are always seeking ways to help women across the world especially in Africa.

She encouraged the beneficiaries to be devoted and committed
