Rev. Abdul Mahoi is presently answering to three count charges of domestic violence brought against him in the Magistrate Court No.3 presided over by Magistrate Bankole Shyllon.
The particulars of offence states that Rev. Abdul Mahoi, who is the pastor in charge of the Temple of Truth Deliverance Ministry, on Tuesday 9th September 2008 committed domestic violence, economic abuse and harassment and intimidation against the complainant, his wife Iye Mahoi.
The defendant, Pastor Mahoi pleaded not guilty of the charges brought against him.
Lawyer S.M Sesay and Kofi Esq. representing the defendant say count three should be two separate offences, adding that with the use of “and” it has been duplicated.
The defence counsels therefore applied that count three be cancelled.
The counsel further states that count one did not create any offence as there is nothing like physical manhandling in the Domestic Violence Act.
Sgt. Sesay of the prosecution counsel asked for an adjournment in order for him to prepare a reply on the defence argument.
Pastor Mahoi was granted bail in the sum of two million Leones and the matter adjourned to Monday October 27, 2008.
