2 Remanded For Robbery With Violence in Sierra Leone

One Francis Musa and Georgina Kassel, who are presently standing trial at the Magistrate Court No 3 on a count charge of robbery with violence, were on Monday 13th October 2008 refused bail and remanded at the Pademba Road Prison.


The particulars of offence state that the accused persons at the Krootown Road Adelaide Street Junction robbed the complainant, Janet Tommy the sum of one million six hundred and fifty thousand leones with personal violence.


After the charges were being read, Presiding Magistrate Bankole Shyllon refused the accused persons bail and adjourned the matter to Monday 20th November 2008.


In another development, Fayah Dowaty was arraigned on three count charges of abusive languages, public insult and provocation and threatening languages against the complainant, Princess Kowah, Principal of the St. Anthony Junior Secondary School.

The defendant pleaded not guilty on the charges brought against him.


Bail application by the defence counsel was granted in the sum of two million leones and that the defendant should report to the police station every day.

The matter was then adjourned to the 22nd October 2008.
