In a bid to demonstrate love and care for his people, the newly installed councilor of ward 331 constituency 93.
Councilor Ibrahim Kabbah (aka Small Borbor) of Ward 331 Constituency 93 on Monday 13th September 2008 conducted a tour of all emergency surgical hospitals in Goderich as part of an initiative designed to extend love and care for the people in that community.
The tour also aims at breaking the silence between the management of the hospital and the people of the community.
“This is part of my effort to share my sympathy and concern with the patients and to also know and acquaint myself with the constraints faced by the hospital,” Councilor Kabbah says, while expressing appreciation to the hospital management for the prompt medical attention given to the community.
“Employment for the community youths and the exposure of the Goderich community to the nation are priorities that we must focus on,” he said.
Hon. Obin Fallay, who is a member of the parliamentary health committee, emphasized that lack of proper medical attention is a major cause for the rising death rates in Sierra Leone.
Responding to the comments, Medical Coordinator, Mr. Micro Barchetta told the delegation that the hospital is funded by Italy.
“We can only host a total of 100 patients and we carryout operations on 14 patients on a daily basis,” the Medical Coordinator said.
