Tourism and Culture Minister, Hindolo S. Trye on Thursday 16th October 2008 verbally attacked media practitioners while boasting at the weekly government press briefing that "no newspaper publication can influence my sacking."
Hindolo Trye’s reaction was in relation to recent media reports on his alleged urination on planes and that of strongly worded calls by several local tabloids for his immediate sacking.
"I believe that President Koroma cannot sack me just like that as my performance in the Ministry of Tourism and Culture is very exemplary," he boasted, while adding that he will not listen to what the press says in taking decisions if he were the President.
He expressed confidence that nothing will influence him being sacked.
"I have been going through the newspapers and I am yet to see any retractions on stories that impinge on my person, especially the Awareness Times," he pointed out, adding he is presently compiling his facts to institute legal actions against those newspapers.
He explains that all what was written against him were just born out of malice, adding that he only went unconscious in the plane and did nothing that resembles what was reported.
Meanwhile, Awareness Times solidly stands by our report.
