Renowned legal practitioner and All People’s Congress (APC) Member of Parliament, Hon. Osho Williams has joined the prosecution team in the ongoing cocaine plane trial at the Freetown Magistrate Court No 1A presided over by Magistrate Deen Tarawallie.

This disclosure was made on Friday 17th October 2008 by prosecuting counsel, Gerald Soyie, who further informed the court that four of the cocaine plane suspects have been granted bail in the High Court.

Gerald Soyie further told the court the witness who was supposed to give testimony was unavoidably absent and asked for an adjournment, an application which was objected by defence Lawyer Roland Wright.

"On the last hearing, the prosecution team applied for an adjournment on grounds of taking certain prosecutorial steps which was to have taken effect last Friday," Roland Wright said, while adding that the team was even accorded the opportunity of an additional week as the hearings did not hold on the said Friday.

He expressed concern that the prosecution team continues to enjoy wasted time at the expense of the accused persons who continue to suffer in detention.

Backing Lawyer Wright’s objection, Defence Lawyer D. B Quee applied that the 9th accused person be discharged while Defending Lawyer M.S Turay reiterated that the prosecution team has been given more than enough time to take what ever line of action.

The matter was then adjourned to Friday 24 October 2008.
