Leonis Golley Morgan, a home based Sierra Leonean contemporary orator par excellence, journalist and educationist who once expressed the desire to contest for the Presidency of Sierra Leone, has expressed serious concern over what he terms as the unfair targeting of the Vice President, Chief Samuel Sam-Sumana by certain sections of the media.

Leonis Golley Morgan A Conscious & Righteous Preacherman

“Any society that fails to honor leaders will be cursed,” Golley Morgan quoted from the Holy Bible adding, “Please, the press is a very powerful tool, of which I am also a part, have had my own share of been locked up by ‘political men’/SLPP, and the press is also a tool for checks and balances. I am not a man that condones evil, no matter who does it, but where other people’s reputations are concerned especially when they are innocent, I advise for proper research to be done,” Golley Morgan insisted.

“Sierra Leoneans, I did not like how the VP’s name was being discussed on SLPP Radio in a comical manner. Please, if this continues Radios and Newspapers will lose their value and become used as organs of assassination. Sam Sumana, what ever anyone may say is VP for now so please let us allow him to settle down and work. GOD has his time for every man. Rejoice with them that rejoice and mourn with them that mourn is how JESUS and Bible puts it,” Golley Morgan ended his advise to the people.

Golley Morgan, who was on a recent visit to our offices, however praised the general state of the local media in Sierra Leone saying that it had come a long way. He had special praises for the Publisher and team of Awareness Times Newspaper.

“What your newspaper is doing for this country is legendary. Keep it up!” Golley Morgan saluted the team at our offices.

Meanwhile, a News Release from Office of the Vice President is reproduced on this page.
