NATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY AND INSURANCE TRUST
PRESS RELEASE

It has come to the attention of the Management of the National Social Security and Insurance Trust (NASSIT) that certain unscrupulous individuals are demanding monies from our esteemed members and the general public on the pretext that the Trust will provide them with micro credit facilities.

NASSIT would like to inform its members and the general public that we are not providing micro credit facilities for anybody. Our mandate as a social security scheme is to provide retirement and other benefits to meet the contingency needs of our members and their dependants. The idea therefore that NASSIT will be providing micro credit facilities is not only false and misleading, but is also a calculated ploy to defraud people of their hard-earned money.

NASSIT is requesting its members and the general public to report any suspected case of fraud to any NASSIT Office in Bo, Makeni, Kenema and Freetown, or to the nearest Police Station.

For further information, please contact the following addresses:

Freetown:

a) 32 Walpole Street, Tel: 225365/223814

b) West Region Office, Former Parcel Post Building, Wallace Johnson Street, Freetown, Tel: 292235/222774

North Region Office: 8 Makama Road, Makeni

South Region Office: 2 Lyon Street, Bo, Tel: 032-320- 263/293
