Thousands of youths residing in the Lumley axis in the far west of Freetown on Tuesday 28th October 2008 declared a twenty-one-day ultimatum to the Government of Sierra Leone to totally demolish what they referred to as a ‘devilish Ogboni Cult’ Headquarters located at 35C Grass Filed, Babadorie.

According to the head of the desperate youths who call themselves ‘Youths Against Cultism,’ the existence of such a society in Sierra Leone is detrimental to decent practices. In their opinion, government must put immediate stop to its existence.
Samuel Marah said the existence of their headquarters in the Lumley area is nothing that the youths and other residents can sit and wait for government’s intervention.
"We have given the government a twenty-one-day ultimatum to demolish that structure failing which we will be left with no alternative but to set it ablaze," he expressed.
He alleges that for the past eight months of their existence in the Lumley community, they had witnessed several harmful incidents around their dwellings such as the burying of live animals and the splashing of stained blood on their houses, and at times in the stream where people wash and launder.
"We had no knowledge of what they were up to until last Saturday when they were stopped from launching the club at the Miatta Conference Hall," he said, adding that since that day residents are being threatened every night by some strange evil sounds and voices.
However, authorities in that area, including the police, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Salamatu Turay and religious heads denied knowledge of the existence of that headquarter building when contacted by our reporter. They said they only came to know through Saturday’s protest.
The question many residents are asking is how such institution could exist without the knowledge of senior authorities in Lumley.
