Childrenís Forum Network (CFN) has demanded that issues of children be addressed in the National Development Plan of Sierra Leone, in line with the recent endorsement of the Child Right Act. This disclosure was made by the National President of the Forum, Sualiaman Musa in an exclusive interview on Monday 24th November 2008.
In that interview he expressed happiness for the realization of the long awaited child rights bill into an Act by parliament. On behalf of companions he strongly called on the government to improve on the right to education, health care service, birth registration system, juvenile justice system and labour and sexual exploitation of children.
He recommended that government provides sufficient budget for education in order to ensure improved quality of education and to guarantee free and compulsory primary education for all children, establish more health centers and motivate nurses to provide good health care service at community levels among others.
