The long drawn out investigation into the Wanza 75 Billion leones ĎOjukokoroí saga has yesterday seen a Press Release issued by the Civil Society Movement of Sierra Leone (CSM-SL) which roundly condemned the current APC led Government as a reckless Government that was insensitive to the sufferings of ordinary Sierra Leoneans.
The CSM-SL Press Release signed by their Chairman, Festus Minah categorically stated that "The ordinary Sierra Leonean whose tax is going to be subjected to the payment of these claims as Government debt, does not only believe that there has been some reckless handling of State matters but of State funds by Government."
The Release goes on to say, "We therefore view the Governmentís approval to pay such a huge sum of money to a single business man with disdain" adding that this was particularly so as such approval first revoked "proper court investigations into the genuineness of the debt owed to Mohamed Wanza".
As a representative of a cross section of deprived Sierra Leoneans and speaking on their behalf, CSM-SL feels strongly that, ordinary Sierra Leoneans feel very much cheated and thus CSM-SL is strongly recommending that Governmentís action be carefully reviewed.
CSM-SL also informs that they have teamed up with the Bar Association to solicit legal advise as they fight against "blatant exploitation of the ordinary Sierra Leonean by a few group of people".
