President of Women in the Media Sierra Leone (WIMSAL), Mariama Sesay has reiterated her associationís stance with regards the ĎDream Teamí of certain hopefuls for executive positions in tomorrowís SLAJ elections.
In an exclusive interview with our reporter, Mariama Sesay who works for Citizen Radio FM103.7 which is operated by a member of the Dream team, David Tam Baryoh, totally dispelled claims that she and members of WIMSAL are part of that team.
"We are not, and will never be part of the so called dream team camp of aspirants led by Philip Neville," she said. "This is a repeat of what I said two weeks or so back at SLENA House when I was making my intent for the position of Financial Secretary public," she added.
Mariama Sesay said whatever might have been the reason for the inclusion of her name on that list was unknowledgeable to her.
"In fact that machination was done whilst I was away from Freetown," she confided, adding, "I was amazed on my return to learn that a certain so-called dream team is using WIMSAL Presidentís name to campaign that WIMSAL supports their ambitions. That was false and misinformed the public about the position of WIMSAL which, as a body, is strictly independent".
She therefore, classed such information as misleading, and tantamount to unacceptably delving into her personal thoughts and intentions in so far as the imminent elections are concerned.
WIMSAL is an organisation that was formed due to the efforts of certain senior journalists like Ibrahim Karim-Sei, the outgoing Secretary General of SLAJ and lead contender for SLAJ Presidency.
Relatedly, indications are that although the Dream Team has been suffering serious setbacks, one of their members, David Tam Baryoh seems to be all set to clinch the race to replace Ibrahim Karim-Sei as SLAJ Secretary General.
