Addressing a well attended Sierra Leone Peoples Party North America (SLPPNA) inauguration dance recently in Maryland, USA, the chairman of the SLPPNA, Mr. Augustine Fallay said the SLPP was founded to bring all the peoples of Sierra Leone under one umbrella for the development of our country. He said the party does not belong to one tribe or region; it belongs to all every Sierra Leonean. He called on all members and well wishers to support the party morally as well as financially so that the party will be able to put our country back on its right footing.

The SLPP National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Victor Reider, who also doubles as guest speaker for the occasion, thanked the SLPPNA for its support to the party and called on members to be united in the interest of the party. He outlined the successes of the party during the last administration and assured members that the national executive in Sierra Leone will continue to take the party to higher heights.

The leader of the young generation-SLPPNA, Mr. Lawrence Sandi called on the youths to be ready to play a more valuable role in the politics of Sierra Leone. He said for a long time the young people have being misused and neglected and its is now time for the youths as the future leaders to take their rightful places in our country.

The master of the ceremony, Mr. Augustine Kebbie recognized the presence of the Secretary-General of the APCNA, Mr. Abdul Kamara and assured the APC that the SLPP will be always ready to work with them in taking Sierra Leone forward.

In her vote of thanks, the womens leader, Miss. Mariatu Bah pointed out that women have an important role to play in the development of our country and encouraged our sisters to come out and participate in the politics of Sierra Leone. She said the days of women being behind are over because women have the same rights that their male counterparts have. On behalf of the entire membership of SLPPNA, Ms. Bah thanked all those who contributed in diverse ways towards making the dance a success. She wished all Sierra Leoneans a bright and prosperous New Year.
