Mrs. Shekito Might Leave Her Husband in Sierra Leone

Sheka Tarawalie (aka Shekito), the State House Press Secretary has stated that his East African wife Rose might leave their matrimonial home in Sierra Leone and pack up to go back to Great Britain where she holds a UK citizenship. Tarawalie was yesterday January 29th 2009 responding to a very firm letter written to him from the Sierra Leone Housing Corporation (SALHOC) instructing him to immediately tear down the wall he has erected up at the OAU village which has prevented access to scores of residents who live on Thomas Drive and beyond. In his letter, Shekito gave reasons why he should be allowed to keep the wall up and one of them was that his wife might get discouraged with Sierra Leone and just pack up and leave.

The erection of the wall has caused a huge brouhaha in Sierra Leone when it was learnt that soldiers acting on the unlawful directives of Shekito, had allegedly manhandled the Chairman of the Opposition in Parliament, Hon. Elizabeth Alpha-Lavalie. Hon. Lavalie is a woman of no mean standing in the society. Youths in the area have also risen up against Shekito since his wall has also blocked access to their football field. Additionally, one of Sierra Leones top ten police officers, Assistant Inspector General of Police Al-Shek Kamara, has also complained Shekito to the Chief of Defence Staff for illegally deploying soldiers at his residence which soldiers had hurled missiles at Al-Shek Kamaras own neighbouring villa.

The beleaguered Shekito, faced with criticisms from all over has now turned to local journalists for assistance. In a widely disseminated letter issued yesterday, Shekito has begged for the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists (SLAJ) to step in and help.

"I am being vilified," Shekito claimed citing his SLAJ membership.

Meanwhile, as at press time, it is not clear if SALHOC will listen to the pleas from Shekito for the wall to remain standing so that his wife Rose will also remain with him in Sierra Leone. The wall itself has been dubbed THE BERLIN WALL OF SIERRA LEONE.
