VACANCIES ANNOUNCEMENT

GreenNet GSM (Sierra Leone) is in full preparation to enter the Sierra Leone mobile telecommunications market. A number of opportunities exist with us for people interested in working in thetelecommunications industry. These opportunities will be advertised from time to time. Find below positions that we want to fill now.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Duration of Appointments

Appointment into any of the vacancies announced below is initially for twelve months, with possibility of extension thereafter. The appointment for twelve months is subject to confirmation after a probation period of three months.

Duty Station

The Duty Station for all the positions is Freetown; with frequent travelling as specific jobs may require.

Remuneration

We offer competitive remuneration in accordance with professional background, qualification and experience.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should submit a letter of application including, Curriculum Vitae and two Passport-size pictures at the reception desk at 1A Cockrill North, Off Wilkinson Road, Freetown. You do not need to attach copies of certificates at this time. You will be asked to come with original certificates to the interview. In your letter of application please give the names and full contact details of three referees, one of whom must be your current or last employer. Applications should be addressed to the Managing Director:

Candidates must give full details of how they can be contacted. GreenNet GSM accepts no responsibility if it is unable to contact a candidate for interview. Only short listed candidates will be contacted. Closing date for receipt of applications is 5:00pm Friday 13th February, 2009.

POSITION 1: Legal Officer

Key Responsibilities:
Advise management team on any company transactions that may have legal implications.

Ensure company compliance with country business laws.

Prepare out-going correspondence of a legal nature.

Review in-coming correspondence of a legal nature and advise on response where required.

Participate in discussions on development or revision or personnel policies and procedures as may be desired by management.

Perform duties of a legal nature as may be requested by the Managing Director.

Qualifications and Experience:

A bachelors degree in law; and registration to practice law in Sierra Leone.

Previous experience of work in a corporate institution will be an advantage.

Proficiency in computer systems and applications is required. An applicant for this position must be between the ages 25 40.

POSITION 2: Human Resources Manager
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee recruitment and selection processes.

Process benefits, staff retirement, leave, allowances, over-time pay and related claims.

Follow-up on and process staff contracts, promotions, within-grade increments and performance evaluation.

Lead briefing and orientation to newly recruited staff on personnel policies and procedures.

Participate in discussion on development or revision of personnel policies and procedures.

Prepare correspondence, special reports and evaluations as required on general administration or specialized human resource tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

A degree in the social sciences; plus post-graduate certificate or diploma training in human resource management or administration. Our ideal candidate must have no less than four years experience in the field of human resource and personnel management.

Proficiency in computer systems and applications is a must. An applicant for this position must be between the ages 30- 40.

POSITION 3: Finance Officer

Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all financial and accounting activities

Process accurately and promptly all accounting transactions

Maintaining consistency in the application of accounting rules and procedures.

Review expenditure and income documentation.

Take lead in financial transactions and accounting reports and reconciliation of accounts.

Responsible for the effective management, supervision, development, performance and control of all financial and accounting functions.

Manage the financial team to ensure timely and accurate processing and reconciliation of budget and actual.

Ensure full compliance of corporate and country legal and taxation requirement.

Qualifications and Experience:

Our ideal candidate must hold a CIMA, ACCA, or ACA professional qualification; or a degree in accounting; with a minimum of four years post-qualification working experience.

Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Office applications, and accounting and financial management software is a most. Proven experience of work in a highly complex corporate environment will be an added advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills desirable. An applicant for this position must be between the ages 30- 40.

POSITION 4: Commercial Officer

Key Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Managing Director and other necessary staff, develop, manage, supervise, and implement product sales activities.

Provide principal liaison to sales agents.

Supervise sales assistants.

Participate in discussion on development or revision of commercial strategies, policies and procedures.

Prepare correspondence, special reports and evaluations as may be required from time to time on commercial activities.

Perform other duties relating to the job of a Commercial Officer as may be requested by the Managing Director.

Qualifications and Experience:

Our ideal candidate must hold a Bachelors degree preferably in the social sciences. A relevant post-graduate professional qualification will be an advantage. A minimum of four years post-qualification working experience is required.

Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Office applications. Experience of work in a highly complex corporate environment will be an added advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills desirable. An applicant for this position must be between the ages 25- 40.

POSITION 5: Marketing Officer

Key Responsibilities:
Serve as focal person for all marketing activities.

Under the guidance of the Managing Director and other necessary staff, develop, manage, supervise, and implement marketing activities.

Take lead in discussions on company and product branding.

Supervise marketing assistants.

Perform other marketing related as may be requested by the Managing Director.

Qualifications and experience:

Our ideal candidate must hold a Bachelors degree preferably in the social sciences. A relevant post-graduate professional qualification will be an advantage. A minimum of four years post-qualification working experience is required.

Proficiency with IT, including Microsoft Office applications. Experience of work in a highly complex corporate environment will be an added advantage. Excellent interpersonal skills desirable. An applicant for this position must be between the ages 25- 40.
