ECOWAS MULTILATERAL SURVEILLANCE PROGRAMME
RECRUITMENT OF A MACROECONOMIST
VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

Post: Macroeconomist
Station: National Coordinating Committee Secretariat
Bank of Sierra Leone With the framework of technical assistance under the 9th European Development Fund (EDE) to the ECOWAS on Multilateral Surveillance activities, the ECOWAS Commission in collaboration with the Government of Sierra Leone is seeking the recruitment of a Macroeconomist and Bilingual Secretary for the National Coordinator committee (NCC) Secretariat of Sierra Leone.

Organization Unit
The Macroeconomist shall be based at the Secretariat of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) in an ECOWAS Member State. He/she shall work under the direct supervision of the Chairman of the NCC in the Member State.

Main Duties
Collection and collation of macroeconomic data
Analysis of economic performance of the Member State within the global economic environment
Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of the Member states economy in line with the approved macroeconomic convergence criteria
Preparation of country economic report and pluri-annual programmes
Managing the NCC Secretariat

Qualification/Experience
Must possess a Masters degree in Economics with at least four years of post qualification experience in the area of macroeconomic analysis and management.
A Ph. D. qualification will be an added advantage.

Competencies
1. Leadership and managerial skills and ability to establish harmonious and effective working relationships
2. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with senior government officials and professional economic and regional integration associations.
3. Problem-solving oriented
4. Ability to articulate and conceptualized ideas
5.creative and innovative and able to meet changing environment requirements
6. Ability to use personal computers and application software including statistical/econometric software.
7.Fluency in the national language preferred.

Duration: The contract duration is for one year and contract renewals will be subject to satisfactory performance and funding.

Remuneration: competitive

RECRUITMENT OF BILINGUAL SECRETARY
Post: Bilingual Secretary
Station: Member State

Organizational Unit
The Bilingual Secretary shall be based at the Secretariat of the National Coordinating Committee (NCC) in an ECOWAS Member State. He/she shall work under the direct supervision of the Head of the NCC Secretariat in the Member State.

Main Duties
Clerical and Secretariat functions such as word-processing, maintaining filling and record systems
Manage the NCC Secretariat
Act upon tasks assigned and delegated by the Head of the NCC Secretariat.

Qualification/Experience

Must posses at least a National Diploma or professional qualification in Secretariat Studies
Should demonstrate good communication skills and interpersonal relations.
Fluency in two working languages of the Community, preferably English and French.

Duration: The contract duration is for one year and contract renewals will be subject to satisfactory performance and funding.
