Five accused persons were yesterday Wednesday 18th February 2009 arraigned before Magistrate C.J. Cole of the Freetown Magistrate Court No. 6 on four count charges.

The five suspects, Mary Lamboi, Alex Lamboi, Fatmata Binta Barrie, Sarah Benjamin and Kadiatu, are answering to charges relating to threatening remarks, provocation, defamatory libel and intimidation.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused persons on Thursday January 15 2009 at Campbell Street in Freetown, committed the aforementioned offenses against one Monica Mansaray residing at the same address.

The accused persons pleaded not guilty to all count charges, and were represented by Defence Lawyer I.F Mansaray.

All accused persons were granted bail in line with an application for bail moved by Defence Lawyer I.F Mansaray.

The matter was adjourned to Thursday 5th March 2009. Lawyers J.O.P. Manley Spaine and A.E Manley-Spaine are standing in for the complainant, Madam Monica Mansaray.

In another development, Idrissa Lamin Foray also appeared before Magistrate Bankole Shyllon.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused on Tuesday 8th January 2009 at Malama Thomas Street in central Freetown, assaulted one Edward Sankoh, occasioning bodily harm on him. The accused pleaded not guilty to the offence.

The prosecution made an application for an amendment on the file, to reflect the year 2009 rather than 2008 as the year the offence was committed.
