VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

A regional bank based in Sierra Leone seeks to engage the services of the following personnel for immediate employment for the following positions:

1. Head, Information System: HR/2009/IS/001

The Job:
The Head, Information Systems reports directly to the Head of Operations/IT and he/she will be responsible for the banks Information Technology Department.

The suitable candidate will be responsible for:

Installing of software and configuring hardware, providing IT support to staff and identifying IT training priorities for the organization.

Writing up and designing of database programmes, preparing and designing of various IT procedures/manuals.

Managing the entire network and advising Management on any new technology.

The Person: The successful applicant should possess strong leadership qualities and must be a good team player.

Qualification and Experience:

Applicant must possess a good degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering or its equivalent and MCSE/MCP with a minimum of six years relevant experience in a financial institution, of which two years should be in a hands-on-experience in implementing Windows 2003 Server in a work environment.

2. Head, Internal Control Department: HR/2009/HICD/002

The Job: The Head, Internal Control Department reports directly to the Managing Director and he/she will be responsible for the banks Internal Control Department.

The Person: The successful applicant should possess strong leadership qualities independent/inquisitive mind and must be a good team player.

Qualification and Experience

Applicant must have a good degree in Accounting, ACCA Professional Level with a minimum of seven years relevant experience in a financial institution, of which two years should be a Head of Department.

3. Branch Managers: HR/2009/BM/003

The Job: The Branch Manager reports directly to the Divisional Head, and is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Branch and achieving set business targets.

The Person: The successful applicant should be an ambitious, confident and highly motivated individual with excellent personality and possess good inter-personal, analytical and communication skills. Must have the capacity to lead and coordinate marketing activities and branch operations. Should be a good team player and result oriented.

Qualification and Experience:

The applicant must have a first degree in any discipline or its equivalent with at least 5 years banking experience of which three must have been in a middle management level position.

4. Head, Micro-Finance Department HR/2009/HMFD/004

The Job:
To oversee the developmental activities and programmes of the banks micro-finance portfolio. The person will be involved in designing a micro-finance action plan to expand the product and provide for their successful management.   

He/She will oversee the work plans that will be derived from the existing marketing plan and will have the overall responsibility of ensuring that objectives within the Micro-Finance Business Plan are met.

The Person:
The successful applicant should possess strong leadership qualities and must be a good team player.

Qualifications:

A good first degree in a relevant discipline, with at least 7 years experience in marketing and managing micro-finance products/programmes.

5. Head, Investment Banking HR/2009/HIB/005

The Job:

The Head, Investment Banking, reports directly to the Managing Director and have the responsibility to create and manage the banks project finance portfolio.

The Person:

The successful applicant should possess strong background in Investment Banking with experience in capital raising, asset management ,corporate finance and advisory services.

Qualification and Experience:

A good first degree in a relevant discipline, preferably accounting and finance, with at least 7 years experience in Investment Banking.

6. Training Manager:HR/2009/TM/006

Training Manager reports directly to the MD/CEO and will be responsible for conducting and supervising in-house and external training and development programs for employees.

The Person:
The successful applicant should possess strong leadership qualities and must be a good team player.

Qualifications:

A good first degree in a relevant discipline with at least 10 years experience in banking, three of which should have been head of department, especially training..

7. Banking Operations Officers:HR/2009/B0/007

The Job: The Banking Operations Officer will report to the Branch Manager and will be responsible for all back office operations of the branch.

The Person: .The successful applicant should have strong personality, with sound analytical and communication skills. Should be self-motivated with good initiative and a team player.

Qualification and Experience: The applicant must have a first degree, in any discipline, from a recognized university with at least two years banking experience. Must have good computer skills.

8. Credit/Marketing Officers: HR/2009/CMO/008

The Job: The Credit and Marketing Officer reports directly to the Head, Credit and Marketing and will be responsible for marketing activities to attract customers to the Bank and conduct credit risk assessments.

The Person: .The successful applicant should be a highly self-motivated and independent individual with strong marketing and communication skills.

Qualification and Experience: The applicant must have a good first degree in any discipline, from a recognized university with at least two years banking experience. A post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.

9 .Internal Control Officers: HR/2009/ ICO/009

The Job: The Internal Control Officer reports directly to the Head, Internal Control Department and will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing the banks control system.

The Person: .The successful applicant should be a highly self-motivated individual with strong accounting and communication skills.

Qualification and Experience: The applicant must have a first degree preferably in the Social Sciences, Accounting or Economics from a recognized university with at least two years banking experience.

10. Legal Adviser: HR/2009/LA/010

The Job: The Legal Adviser reports directly to the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer and is expected to advise on and handle all legal issues, including corporate governance. Should coordinate Board activities and disseminate strategic information

The Person: The successful applicant should be an ambitious and confident individual with excellent personality and should possess good inter-personal, analytical and communication skills.

Qualification and Experience:
The applicant must have a first degree in Law with at least five years working experience on corporate issues, local legislations and law, relating to banking.

11. CONFIDENTIAL SECRETARY: HR/2009/CS/011

The Job: The confidential secretary will report to the Managing Director and will be responsible for all secretarial/administrative matters including preparation of the Managing Directors itineraries.

The Person:.The successful applicant should have strong respect for confidentialities, should have good command of both written and verbal communication skills. Should be self-motivated with good initiative and a team player.

Qualification and Experience: The applicant must have a first degree, or its equivalent in Secretarial Administration or Secretarial Studies, from a recognized university with at least five years working experience, preferably in a financial institution. Must have good computer skills.
