LICCSAL Business College formerly situated at a rented apartment on John Street has formally opened and dedicated the colleges Le.1, 000, 000, 000 (One Billion Leones) worth four storey building situated at Wilberforce village in Freetown. The formal opening ceremony of the new campus took place at a well graced ceremony held on Tuesday 24th February 2009, after nine (9) years of existence as a tertiary institution in Sierra Leone.

Proprietor and Founder of the College, Reverend Victor Wayne informed his audience that the college commenced operations with only eighteen (18) students. He pointed out that they were operating under a very difficult and stressful atmosphere, as the students were only occupying a single classroom that was very uncomfortable. "Albeit that ugly situation, we have successfully increased the number of students at the college and can now boast of a student base of 3, 000, offering various courses including Human Resource Management, Journalism, Banking and Finance, Accounting and Finance, Introductive Technology (IT) among others", he noted.

According to him, the new building is capacitated to host over five thousand people, adding that the building is made up of eight (16) classroom blocks that can accommodate one hundred students each, a canteen, radio station, music room, library, administration offices, staffroom and IT room among others.

Rev. Wayne pointed out that the initial budget for the new building was Le.600, 000, 000 (Six Hundred Million Leones), but later projected to one billion leones as a result of the economic situation in the country.

He divulged modalities afoot by the college administration for the provision of bus service for the school by next years tenth anniversary celebrations. "The proposed bus would be used to transport students to and fro the college campus at an affordable cost", he maintained.

He explained further that students offering certificate courses and those in the Access will commence lectures at the new campus, whilst diploma students are expected to join the new campus by mid April this year, by which date the building is expected to have been fully completed.

For his part, the colleges registrar, Mr. M. Sankoh used the forum as an opportunity to call on the students to speed up payments of their school fees in order to aid the administration achieve laid down plans.
