Armed Robbers Attack GKs House

Four armed men are said to have attacked and robbed the Lumley Babadorie resident of wanted police suspect, Gibril Kamara (GK). Mohamed Bangura, Lamin Kamara, Bajejeh and Osman Kaffri Kamara are presently standing trial in the Freetown Magistrate Courts. Two of the four suspects are also answering to separate murder charges in court, as they are believed to have a hand in the murder of British National Nick Foster. Security attached to the said premise has revealed that the house was attacked on December 25, 2008, and the robbers succeeded in catering away many properties and rape his girlfriend.

Israeli Cattle Experts Visit Sierra Leone

Two Israel Cattle Experts, Steven Rosen and Liran Tamir are said to have concluded a feasibility study in the northern province of Sierra Leone. They have reportedly disclosed that the cattle situation in their areas of deployment have been assessed, whilst stating that they will report back to the State of Israel on how cows are living in the country. They have reportedly promise to start a project in genetic cross-breeding of cows between Sierra Leone and Israel. The disadvantages faced in cow breeding in the country include lack of infrastructure for the cows, lack of research stations and lack of a well equipped laboratory.

Chinese to Mine in Gola Forest

Reports have alleged that Chinas CLC Mining Resources Limited has acquired 100% equity in Sierra Leone minerals and plans are well underway to continue mining in the Bagla Hill in the Gola Forest. Reports say the company has one million dollars to start iron ore mining in the hill of the forest. Environmentalists have reportedly commented that the said project will destroy the natural ecological balance of West Africas last rain forest.

Ghanaian Arrested for Spreading False Information

Ghanaian National Prince Abbey has reportedly been detained at the Central Police Station for spreading false information. According to reports, Abbey was arrested and detained last Thursday, though he is yet to be charged to court. The detainee is reported to have pleaded with the police to discontinue the matter, as he has been very helpful over the years in given tangible information to the police.

Johnny Paul in Burkina Faso

A Sierra Leonean resident in Burkina Faso is said to have disclosed that he recently spotted former Junta Leader of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) in Burkina Faso. Reports further allege that Johnny Paul Koroma always communicates with his relatives here in Sierra Leone. It could be recalled that the former junta leader disappeared in thin air, after his name was mentioned as a war crime indictee of the Sierra Leone United Nations backed Special Court. He was later reported to have died.

St. Luke Primary School Cries for Help

Local tabloids have reportedly disclosed that the St Luke Primary School at Wilberforce village is in dire need of assistant. According to the Head Mistress of the school, over 500 pupils are attending the school and the community is doing her best to keep the school going. The school is presently faced with challenges including lack of teachers and teaching materials. The school administration is however calling on the government to come to their aid.

Illegal Construction Land Ten in Police Net

Reports monitored from local tabloids have intimated that the Sierra Leone Police (SLP) recently arrested and detained ten people including military personnel for illegally constructing houses at Banga Farm Plantation in Waterloo. The arrests were reportedly carried out during a patrol on the site by the Deputy Minister of Lands and the Waterloo Rural District Council. The Lands Ministry is reported as saying that people continue to undertake illegal activities despite warnings and sensitisation from the ministry.
