Ansu Lansana Goes Back to SLPP

National Secretary General of the Peoples Movement for Democratic Change (PMDC) has informed pressmen of his immediate relinquishing of his membership from the PMDC, with a view of returning back to the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP).

Mr. Ansu B. Lansana made this disclosure on Saturday 28th February 2009, whilst speaking at a press briefing held at his Waterloo Street office in Freetown.

Making his submission, he accused the partys leader, Charles Francis Margai of running the PMDC as a one man business, adding that it was as a result of such that he decided to make what he described as a U-Turn.

"I am going back to my root of origin, the SLPP" he said.

He also stated that Mr. Charles Margai misinformed the partys membership over the issue of cabinet reshuffle, alleging that what the leader told them was a complete reverse of what was evident in the Ernest Bai Koroma cabinet reshuffle. He said although the PMDC teamed up with APC to foster National Unity, he expressed frustration with the current manner in which President Koroma appointed cabinet ministers as well as with the arbitrary dismissals and victimisation of Southeasterners suspected to be SLPP sympathizers which he said was a manifestation of the non commitment of the Koroma led APC towards national unity.

He ended with a call for his supporters and sympathizers, to back his decision and follow him to the SLPP.
