Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) Honourable Member of Parliament, Jolley Magnus Lavalie, representing Constituency 82 in the Moyamba District, has disclosed in the House of Parliament that he has contacted a company in the United Kingdom named ARUL, to come and invest in agriculture in the Korie, Kowa and Kamajei chiefdoms in the Moyamba District, south of Sierra Leone.

He said the sum of One Million Pounds has been budgeted for the project, and will go towards the procurement of tractors, harvesters, motors bikes one 25 KVA generator and a quantum of seed rice.

He said the main thrust of the project is to develop local farmers through the supply of seeds and use of machinery on an interest free basis.

According to Hon. Magnus Lavalie, the project will also create employment for a substantial number of youths in the Moyamba District, adding that a total of one hundred youths have already been employed to do clearing work on the proposed agricultural sites.

He urged his colleague parliamentarians, especially those that are opportune to travel frequently abroad, to emulate his good example by ensuring that they bring back the necessary goodies to their constituents.

He encouraged his colleagues to pay attention to the levels of unemployment in their respective constituencies and work hard towards ventures that would help create jobs especially for the youths and to meet the expectations of the masses.

Meanwhile, a resident in the Moyamba District has lauded the efforts of Hon. Jolley Magnus Lavalie, saying "This is the kind of things we expect of our politicians".
