SLPP & APC Get Hosted at State House as UN's Schulenburg's Diplomacy succeeds

President & Father of the Nation is expected to approve a UN-supported independent inquiry into what caused the violence to erupt and who should be held responsible. The issue of the proposed Inquiry is one of 16 points in a Communique expected to be jointly signed at 3pm today at State House by APC and SLPP. It will be witnessed by the ERSG Schulenburg and President Koroma.

A very unhappy looking Opposition Leader, John Oponjo Benjamin (JOB) is shown with the UNs ERSG Michael Schulenburg and the UNs Mr. Hagoss in front of the vandalised SLPP Party Offices during the ERSGs Visit to the Opposition Headquarters some ten days ago. In the background to the left behind JOBs head is shown part of the scrawled graffiti engraved on the walls of the Opposition Headquarters. The Graffiti Reads: APC House. Despite assurances that the International Community would not let down those Sierra Leoneans who had lost faith and felt suppressed and oppressed in the present political climate, many SLPP supporters had strongly believed that Democracy was dying in the country and they were no longer free to exercise their constitutional rights to associate or express freely. Meanwhile, pro-Government presshouses like the ragsheet owned by the President's press secretary and the ruling party mouthpiece We Yone had a field day spewing all sorts of invectives and lies against members of the opposition and the critical independent press. Deep Frustration abounded in the National Polity. However, under the astute and patient leadership of the UN Secretary Generals man in Sierra Leone and the entire Diplomatic Community, a "Peace Agreement" will be signed at the Seat of Power today. The ruling APC and the opposition SLPP will be hosted by President Koroma as they make peace in front of the diplomatic corps, the independent media and members of civil society at 3pm today.

After assuring the Opposition SLPP that democracy will not be killed, ERSG Schulenburg and Mr. Hagoss walk back to their official car. APC Graffiti scrawled on the walls is clearly shown in background. The ERSG is in deep thought as he leaves the scene of pillaging and alleged raping in Freetown. Today, the ERSG will add another laurel to his diplomatic credentials as his patience and astute interventions will see APC & SLPP Protagonists make peace at a State House Ceremony to be hosted by the President.

One of the women allegedly raped during the violence that erupted at Opposition HQs, is shown as she is aided to walk by a female nursing sister.
