Africell To Open Modern Complex To Serve As Headquarters

Africell is set to open the first phase of its modern office complex situated in Wilberfroce on Saturday 25th April 2009. the occasion will be attended by invites from all works of life and statements will be made by the Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Freetown, the Right Revered J.O.P Lynch and the Minister of Information and Communication, Alhaji I.B Kargbo.

Africell is the leading GSM operator in Sierra Leone with more than 700,000 active subscribers from all the different regions in Sierra Leone. Africell commences its operations in February 2005 and since then has rapidly expanded due to its quality of service and strategic commercial activities. The new Africell Headquarter is a milestone in Africells expansion program. At the start of this year, Africell also signed agreements with three world renowned suppliers worth US$20,000,000 (Twenty Million United States dollars) to be spent in 2009 in order to provide the best in telecommunication services to its subscribers and also strengthen its leadership position in the GSM industry.

A high level delegation from Africells head office led by Mr. Ziad Dalloul, the Group CEO of LINTEL (the Holding Company of Africell) will also jet in for the grand opening ceremony. Among the high level delegation will be representatives of the Lebanese Canadian Bank and Bank Audit, two of the leading banks in the Middle East who will be looking for investment opportunities in Sierra Leone and confirm their commitment towards Africell.

The Lebanese Canadian Bank delegation will be headed the Banks Chairman Manager, Mr. Georges Zard Abou Jaoude. Mr. Abou Jaoude is an international businessman and banker with many major construction projects, among others, to his credit. He is also the winner of numerous banking awards.

The Lebanese Canadian Bank has a strong presence in Lebanon and has expanded to Algeria and The United Arab Emirates as part of its plan to cater for the entire MENA region.

Bank Audis heritage rests on 175 years of banking tradition and experience. Origins of the banks could be traced as far as 1830 in Sidon, South Lebanon. Audi Bank provides a large spectrum of banking services including commercial and retail banking, private banking, corporate and investment banking and insurance activities. By June 2006 total assets of the group amounted to US$12.7 Billion and shareholders equity was US$ 1.6 Billion. Presently, the Bank ranks among the top twenty five Banks in the Middle East. Audi Bank also has branches in France, Switzerland, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Sudan Saudi Arabia, and Lebanon.

During their short stay in Freetown the high level delegation from Africell Head Office in Beirut will meet with Government Officials and other Banking Executives
