Sierra Leone State Lottery Donates 24 Mattresses to King Georgeís VI Home

The Sierra Leone State Lottery Company Limited on Wednesday 29th April 2009 presented a total of twenty four mattresses, bed sheets and bed plastics to residents of the King Georgeís VI Home. The presentation ceremony was held at the Headquarters of the Sierra Leone State Lottery, Tower Hill in Freetown.

In his statement, the Managing Director of the Company, Abubakarr Dizo Kamara explained that the Sierra Leone State Lottery has over the years been of tremendous help to the King Georgeís Home. He highlighted that this is in line with the companyís corporate social responsibility, adding that they are well determined to do more for the people of Sierra Leone. Mr. Kamara pointed out that it is only in this part of the world that people do looks down on such people and do consider them as destitute. Most people,according to him, use the Home as a dumping ground.

According to him, the State Lottery is a very unique company that does not believe in imitation. He noted that the company has been rendering numerous assistance to various institutions across the country, including the military. He therefore used the forum as an opportunity to emphatically inform his audience that the State Lottery is not afraid of any competition, whilst expressing their preparedness to face any competition. or department to fall the general public that the Sierra Leone state lottery is not afraid of any competition and that they are well prepaid to face any competition. He further called on the entire populace to continue to play the lotto game, and reiterated that the company is soon to launch the Pik 3 Lottery Game to the public.

On behalf of the Board of Chairman, Chief Aiah Brewah pointed out that taking care of people, as does in the King Georgeís Home, is one of the best jobs in other parts of the world, especially in America. He called on the audience to respect residents of the Home, adding that "we look young today, but tomorrow will be a different scenario".

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Home, Rev Femi Anthony expressed profound thanks and deep appreciation to the company for such a laudable offer. He mentioned that such offers will go a long way in improving the lives of residents of the Home.

The programme was chaired by the Public Relations Officer, Rev. Jones and present at the ceremony include the entire board members of the company and officials of the Home.
