In Sierra Leone, Attitudinal Change Philip Conteh Goes Berserk

Head of Attitudinal Change, Philip Conteh, Monday ushered thugs into his compound at No. 12 Smart Farm, preventing High Court Bailiffs from executing a High Court Fyfe order.

The order to confiscate goods in the possession of Philip Conteh was as a result a summon suit against him for goods he received on loan from International Insurance Company but failed to make payment as was understood.

It was shocking that the Ernest Koroma appointed head of Attitudinal Change, Philip Conteh, was seen in a tyrannical behaviour; shouting and referring to court bailiffs as useless and idle men.

At the scene of execution, two high court bailiffs, a Police officer, and journalists suffered extreme threat in the hands of gangs calling themselves relatives of Philip Conteh.

As bailiffs tried to remove from the premises of Philip Conteh household goods such as Samsung Plasma T.V., Kenwood amplifier/DSTV decoder, double door Samsung refrigerator, three seater leather chairs, Toyota jeep AND 716 etc, a group of men suddenly entered the compound holding stones and bottles, shouting "wae di bas. pikin dem wae cam for molest we bra. We cam for damage anyone wae mistake pull anytin nar we bra in pallar."

The scene went completely mad, banana and out of control- in other words, it was fearfully fearful.

The gangs took over the compound and were broken bottles at random, threatening to kill anyone attempting to remove anything from inside the premises of their bra Philip.

Investigation gathered revealed clearly that the so called head of Attitudinal Change rented the house he now occupies from management of International Insurance Company (IIC). The house had household goods belonging to the company. The goods, we are told, were to have been paid for by the occupant (Philip Conteh, head of Attitudinal Change) long before now.

Persistent refusal to refund cost for goods sold to the head of Attitudinal Change resulted into court action which later saw an order to Fyfe property in the house.

On the aspect of attitude as reflected in the office of head Attitudinal Change, it was disclosed that Philip Conteh did receive a summon suit from court but vehemently refused to honour it. "He refused to attend court and was boisterously bragging that he has big influence in the APC," our source disclosed.

Philip Conteh, after flouting, disobeying, and refusing to respect the due process of the law, later turned round to pay the sum of Le 6 M.

He paid the said amount to one lawyer Garber, legal officer of IIC, while the process of Fyfe was on at his residence.

What sounds trite and nonsensical on the part of the head of Attitudinal Change was, allowing court action, court decision and court enforcement of Fyfe order almost completed before opting to pay money as imposed by the court of law.

Max Lucado once said "values are motivational- they give us reasons why we do things; and they are restrictive- they place boundaries around behaviour."

Words as stated above are backed by the four components of what value is: honesty, purity, unselfishness and love.

In itself, sending thugs to resist bailiffs in the execution of court order, failure to honour the call of the court, refusing to pay for goods collected, allowing the wife to boo at peaceful and well composed journalists, and sending thugs to stop a policeman from performing his duty, is far fetched from what attitudinal change preaches.
