Robin Faley, Hon. retired Brigadier Kes Boyah and Hon Emmanuel W. Tommy, on Saturday 16th May 2009, paid a courtesy call on the people of Sewafe Town in the Kono District, in honour of the late Reverend Paul Dumba, who happened to have served as chairman of the party until he was killed by rebels during the decade long crisis. He was also a founding member of the party.

In his address, the National Chairman of the party, Mr. John O. Benjamin, described the occasion as remarkable, saying the SLPP as a party will for ever remain grateful to the late Reverend Paul Dumba for the selfless role he played to get the party standing on a sound footing today.

He informed party supporters that the present executive is a viable one and is well determined to improve on the modus operadi and strategies to achieve the desired goal come the 2012 general elections.

Mr. Benjamin, whilst paying tribute to Rev Dumba, described him as one who apart from being a founding member of the party, also worked assiduously to maintain the vision for which the party was founded.

He went on to state that the late Reverend Paul Dumba will never be forgotten as he was a man full of commitment, discipline and straight forwardness.

He urged current members of the party to emulate his good example and work tirelessly towards the future of the party.

He also admonished SLPP supporters to stay away from all sorts of violence and contribute meaningfully to the development aspirations of the party and the country as a whole.

In his tribute and statement, the son of the late Rev Paul Dumba, Sylvester Dumba, maintained that his late father, through his generosity, had many children in Kono District and beyond.

He expressed dismay over the mistake that was made by the party by abandoning their family, stating however that the move taken was a step in the right direction.

The ceremony was climaxed by the pouring of libation.
