A group of almost one hundred dynamic, young ladies led by the President of the Sierra Leone Female Musicians, Vicky Fornah and the President of Women in the Media (WIMSAL), Ms. Doreen Barrie last weekend stormed the Freetown residence of the Publisher of the Awareness Times newspaper, Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden in a bid to cheer her up and show solidarity with her in her current trials with the State.

The Ladies, who included the countrys top female journalists and top female musicians, said they were there to tell Dr. Blyden that they were standing solidly on her side through and through until the ongoing saga came to an end.

According to the WIMSAL President, Doreen Barrie, her organization is fully in solidarity with Dr. Sylvia Blyden during this trying period she was facing. She said WIMSAL is extremely proud of Dr. Blyden because of her exemplary lifestyle that was worth emulating by all young Sierra Leonean ladies and also because she is the only female proprietress of an operating and formidable newspaper in the country. She stated categorically that those bad-hearted people trying to hound her will definitely not succeed.

Also pouring praises on Dr. Blyden at her residence were the countrys most notable female musicians, prominent among whom were Vicky Fornah, Lady Felicia, DJ Lulu and Lady Amit.

You are our mentor. I will say this anywhere in this country and anywhere in the world that Dr. Sylvia Olayinka Blyden is Sierra Leones own Oprah Winfrey. You inspire us and we are so proud to be here with you today to help cheer you up, Vicky Fornah assured Sylvia Blyden to loud cheers.

These distinguished young ladies who are definitely amongst the leading opinion-makers in the country, through their songs, radio programmes and writings, stayed with Sylvia Blyden until the early morning hours of Sunday May 24th 2009 partying, dancing, eating, having healthy conversations and lots of fun.

More Details with beautiful photos of that night will be uploaded here later.
