The First Lady of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Sia Nyama Koroma on Thursday 11th June 2009 presented long service awards to staff who have served the Sierra Leone Library Board for more than a decade. The presentation of awards formed the climax of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Sierra Leone Library Board, located at Rokel Street in central Freetown.

Preceding the presentation of the awards, the First Lady in her keynote address, noted that the Sierra Leone Library Board has been a formidable institution in the educational system of Sierra Leone, which she went on, has served the needs of the learning population.

God, she went on, is about to bless her efforts in nation building. The Guest Preacher compared Sierra Leone with the episode of Joseph in the Holy Scriptures (Bible) who was sold by his brothers and sent as a captive to serve as a slave in Egypt.

Dr. Coran offered special prayers for the President and the First Lady for divine protection, wisdom, favour and blessing.

Also on Tuesday 9 June 2009, a delegation representing No Boundary International, led by Pastor Andrew Thomas Sesay, visited the First Lady at her office at the Presidential Lodge on Hill Station in Freetown.
