ProCredit Bank, believed to be one of the fastest growing banks in the country, over the weekend re-opened and handed over to the people the newly renovated Kissy - Locust Market situated in the east end of Freetown.

Addressing a mammoth gathering that assembled to witness the remarkable handing over and reopening ceremony, Benedict Hoffman, the General Manager of the bank, said it all started when traders from the then dilapidated market took part in a football competition organized by the bank, adding that it was courtesy of their performance at the said competition that the promise was made to rehabilitate the market. He said "It is a fulfillment of a long term promise".

According to him, the implementation of the project forms an integral part of ProCredit Banks role as a neighborhood bank, and one that serves the greater community and provides open and transparent services that are citizen-friendly.

He noted that ProCredit Bank operates in several countries around the world, and seeks to assist in the development of Sierra Leone by providing banking services (deposits and loans) to all categories of Sierra Leoneans including small scale enterprises and other deserving groups.

Mr. Hoffman called on all to transact business with the bank, assuring of credibility and reliability.

The Deputy Mayor of the Freetown City Council, Gibril Ibrahim Kanu expressed gratitude to ProCredit Bank for spending millions of leones in renovating the market, which he said was in a dilapidated state.

He lauded the efforts of Councilor John Conteh, who he noted is the brain behind the renovation of the market.

The Chairlady of the market, Madam Gbassay Kanu, thanked ProCredit Bank for the kind gesture, and assured that the traders at the market will continue to render their fullest cooperation to the bank.
