The Liberian President Elect and First elected Female African Head of State, Madam Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's presence took Freetown by storm yesterday. Huge crowds of well wishers and women turned out to wave to the African heroine as she drove through the streets of Freetown to meet Sierra Leone's President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah at State House. The Hon. Vice President who is currently in mourning for his wife, made a brief appearance at State House to also welcome Madam Johnson Sirleaf to Sierra Leone. Women and interestingly, even Sierra Leonean youth all poured out on to the streets from Lumley Helicopter Landing Pad to the city centre. Amongst the many well wishers who socialised with Madam Johnson Sirleaf was Mrs. Zainab Hawa Bangura, the former Presidential Candidate in the 2002 Sierra Leone Elections.
