The Acting Head of the United Nations Integrated Peace Building Office in Sierra Leone (UNIPSIL), Mr. Hagoss has yesterday assured the Awareness Times newspaper that the delay in releasing the full version of the "Third Report of the UN Secretary General to the Security Council on UNIPSIL" was due to the processes involved that were yet to be completed.

Asked whether the UN was engaged in anything extraordinary since the last report published was plagued with errors, Mr. Hagoss guaranteed that nothing sinister was happening, adding that the full version of the report would be made public within two days time.

He said he was in possession of a copy of the report, but would not release it for public perusal until the due process was followed.

Mr. Hagoss explained that the processes involve submitting the report to the office of the UN Secretary General situated at the 38th floor of the United Nations building in New York. Following which, he continued, the report would be sent to the UN Security Council. It is at this point that the report would be published on the Security Councils website.

The Awareness Times yesterday monitored the UN Security Councils website on to the early hours of this morning (September 8th), but the report which was delivered by Mr. Ban Ki Moon to the Security Council since September 3rd 2009, was yet to be published for perusal.

Meanwhile, the Editorial Team of the Awareness Times continue to monitor the website and would want to assure the general public that this papers Editorial Board intends to thoroughly scrutinize the latest UN Report on the state of affairs in Sierra Leone and report back to the citizens on its contents.
